A cozy hex-island puzzle about dwarfs who mine by rolling bombs. Tap a tile: it lifts, turns, and settles, and every groove on the island reroutes. Guide the bomb to the boulder, the cart to the shaft, and dig 33 islands deep through four biomes. No timers, no fail states, just deeper.

About This Game

You tap a tile. It lifts, turns sixty degrees, and settles with a soft wooden clack and every groove carved into the island has just changed where it leads. That one click is the whole of HEXCAVATE, and the game spends thirty-three islands finding new things to do with it.

Each level is a floating hex island of carved stone. Bombs roll out of a spawner pad and follow the grooves; boulders sit in the way, full of gold and blasting powder. Turn the tiles so the bomb reaches the rock, let it break, and the road is open for the cart. When the cart rolls into the shaft, the island drops away and the next one assembles beneath you, deeper, darker, warmer.

What you'll do

  • Rotate hexagonal tiles to reroute grooves, bombs and carts ride the same roads.

  • Roll cast-iron bombs into gold and powder boulders; hold a dozing bomb to blast on your terms.

  • Ride the cart down through four biomes: Greenhollow, the Quarry, the Bedrock, the Volcanic Core.

  • Spend gold at the Forge between islands: bigger blasts, richer drops, faster rolls, a deeper satchel.

  • Place jump pads to leap a bomb or the whole cart over the tile in front of it.

  • Light the Hint Lantern when you're stuck; it shows the next turn and never judges you.

HEXCAVATE keeps a promise it calls the Cozy Contract: nothing counts down, nothing self-detonates, and no level can be lost. Restart is a full refund. Upgrades are toys, never keys. You are always able to go forward and forward is always down.
