About This Game

Lantern Hollow is a relaxed strategy and building game set in a Chinese mountain valley. Choose one of three tiles in your hand and place bamboo groves, ponds, fields and homes along the river. Connect resources, light up windows and watch a village take shape.

Three tiles, one thoughtful choice

Every placement changes your village and its score. Preview what a tile will do before choosing its home. Fulfil village wishes to earn extra tiles and keep building. There is no timer, so you can pause to consider a move or simply enjoy the view.

A new landscape to return to

Start with a random valley, try the daily landscape, or play a weekly challenge with a different tile mix. When the deck runs out, tally your score. You can then continue in creative mode and add the finishing touches to your village.

Look a little closer

Find a sleeping cat on a roof, a monkey beside the tea fields, and small details that appear as you arrange the landscape. Bamboo rafts, stone tables and waterside pavilions give you reasons to move the camera closer and fill your discovery journal.

Keep a postcard of your village

Enter photo mode to compose a view, change the time of day and seasonal appearance, or try a painted finish. Save a postcard of the village you have made, from a bright stream in daylight to warm windows after dusk.

Generative AI tools were used during development to create some 3D models and textures, including buildings, vegetation, rocks and animals, as well as some menu backgrounds, interface artwork and store artwork. These assets were selected, edited, optimized and integrated during development. The game does not generate AI content during play or connect to an external AI service.
