About This Game

かなクロス / Kana Cross

A cozy word game played entirely in Japanese hiragana and katagana. Part word-battler, part gentle way to pick up kana and vocabulary — build real Japanese words, outscore a clever bot, and unwind in a warm little café.

Kana Cross turns real vocabulary into play. Words are drawn from a real dictionary tagged by JLPT level (N5–N1), each shown with its meaning and kanji, so every match doubles as practice.

🁢 Tile Battle — Classic · War · Chaotic

Place hiragana tiles on the board to build crossing words, pick each tile's form as you go (か → か or が), and score every cross. Illegal plays just underline in red — no lost turns, so you're free to experiment.

• Classic — the pure word game: you, your rack, and a thinking opponent.

• War — Classic plus 15 skill cards that swing whole games: steal tiles, drain points, seal a rack, lock down zones, or guarantee a ×3 finish.

• Chaotic — War plus board events: treasure tiles, score bombs, rack shuffles, and lockdowns that turn a calm match into delightful mayhem.

• Relax — no clock, no pressure. Solve at your own pace.

• Time-Limit — race the countdown to fill as much of the board as you can.

Play solo against a dictionary-smart bot — beginner to expert — or share the board with others. Team up or compete across the Tile Battle and Crossword modes, from a relaxed solo puzzle to a table full of rivals.
