What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is currently in its Alpha stage. I want to involve the community early on to gather crucial feedback, fix bugs, and refine the core gameplay mechanics to create the best possible experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on the feedback received and the time needed to complete all planned features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will feature a complete storyline, additional unique levels and environments to explore, more puzzles, improved AI for the Owl, and overall optimization and polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Alpha version features the core gameplay loop, including exploration, stealth mechanics to hide from the stalker, investigation elements, and the initial puzzles. Players can experience 1 out of 3 planned game modes—the intense Night Mode. It is fully playable but lacks some final story elements and polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features toward the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will closely monitor the Steam Community Hub forums and social media for player feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. Player opinions will directly influence balance adjustments and future updates.”

About This Game

IMPORTANT: Alpha Version Notice

Please note that this is an Alpha version of the game. Owl Case is currently in its early stages of development. The content available in this build does not represent the final quality of the game; features, graphics, and gameplay mechanics are subject to change, and new content will be added in future updates. Thank you for testing the game early and supporting its development!

Overview

Owl Case is a first-person survival horror game that plunges you into a tense, claustrophobic nightmare. You play as a female detective trapped inside an empty police station. The building is locked, and a dangerous killer known as The Owl is hunting you down. Your only goal is to find a way out, use your wits, and survive the night.

Gameplay & Features

1. Voice-Activated Detection (Microphone Integration)

The Owl is always listening, not just to your in-game character, but to you. The game actively utilizes your real-world microphone. Every sudden gasp, breath, or terrified scream in your room can be picked up by the killer. To survive, you must maintain absolute composure and remain silent in real life, or risk exposing your exact hiding spot to a relentless predator.

2. Tactical Stealth & Sound Management

In these dark corridors, silence is your ultimate shield. You must carefully manage the noise your character makes. Hide in the shadows, crouch-walk through high-risk zones, and outmaneuver the killer by using the environment to your advantage.

3. Limited Defense & Quick Time Events

You are trapped, but you are not entirely defenseless. While you cannot openly hunt the monster, there are critical, high-tension moments where you can fight back to save your life. Remember: resources are extremely scarce, and direct confrontation is a desperate last resort.

4. Precinct Exploration & Survival Puzzles

The locked police station is a complex puzzle box. To find a way out, you must thoroughly search abandoned offices, dark holding cells, and hidden archives. Every door you unlock brings you closer to freedom, but also forces you deeper into the killer's territory.

Characters

Meet the characters of Owl Case. Please note that more characters will be introduced in future updates as the story unfolds.

Game Modes

At the moment, only one game mode is available for testing: Night Mode. The final release of the game will feature three distinct modes, with two more to be added in future updates: Twilight Mode and Nightmare Mode. Each mode will offer different challenges, and below is a tentative chart showing which characters will appear in each game mode.

 Ctrl — Crouch

 Mouse — Look around
