About This Game

The Story:

Maria Vasilievna sat alone in the drawing room, like a solitary flower put on public display. Nikolai Andreyevich, her husband—a man of honor and high standing—preferred the world of his business dealings. Maria Vasilievna felt the drawing room—that den of "vipers"—closing in on her, suffocating her. Her attempts to maintain her dignity within this cage of flattery and gossip were crumbling to dust. She left; the click of her heels on the parquet floor seemed to count down the final moments before her escape. Outside, she encountered a junk dealer trying to hawk his wares. Her gaze was drawn to a mirror that had once belonged to a noblewoman who had lost everything. Purchasing the mirror triggered an unexpected change in her husband, sparking an inexplicable fear and driving Maria Vasilievna to fight for her happiness.

Games with the Entity:

The Game of the "Black Queen." The goal is to discard all the cards. One must remember: each card is not merely paper; it represents memories—fragments of family life and the souls of the spouses. Yet, bear in mind: the more precious the memory, the more intensely it will torment you. Winning the game yields the first clue needed to unravel the mystery.

The Game of the "Two Chalices." The entity holds two chalices. One is elegant, crafted from pure silver and filled with a pale-gold, sparkling liquid that radiates a gentle warmth. The other is crude and black—carved from dark, petrified-looking wood—and filled with a thick, swirling, dark-purple substance that emanates a palpable chill. One holds the "Essence of Truth"; the other, the "Mist of Oblivion." Only by choosing the right chalice can you obtain the second clue.

The "Cards" game: the Entity holds three cards in its clawed hands. Each depicts a flower. The first card shows a lupine; the second, withered marigolds; and the third, a hawthorn branch. Only by passing the Entity's trial can you discover the way to save Nikolai Andreyevich.

Secrets history has kept hidden:

The mirror triggered the Entity's appearance, setting a countdown in motion. Nikolai Andreyevich—a prisoner of obligation and the world beyond the looking-glass—awaits Maria Vasilyevna’s decision. Three paths, three destinies. Only one path leads to salvation; two lead to the abyss. You must choose—wisely or in desperation. As Maria Vasilyevna uncovers more of the story, more questions arise. Who is the Progenitor, and how is he connected to the otherworld? Why does Nikolai Andreyevich remain silent about his family's past?

The final game decides everything. Make the right choice to discover the key to Nikolai Andreyevich’s salvation.
