Story

Nikolay is an ordinary 29-year-old guy who loves kvass, dried fish, and TV series. He just wanted to take the train home to the neighboring town—it lives right next door. But the damned traffic jam and the old woman with the cart, moving at a snail's pace, did their job: the last train left right under his nose. A classic—and he even managed to take a nap before leaving.

Broken and hurt, Nikolay notices, seemingly out of nowhere, a door open in an abandoned dining car on a forgotten siding. The aroma of potato pies and fried potatoes wafting out of it is so irresistible that it's impossible to resist. One step inside, and the door slams shut with a deafening clang.

A Journey Through the Stations

The "Forgotten Hats" station is an abandoned Soviet department store with crumbling kiosks, where you must return three lost hats to their unusual owners: a ghost plumber, a giant moth, and a mechanical mushroom. You'll have to pay for the hats—for example, by reliving your embarrassing first date or singing a ditty about kvass. Fail, and your head will become a new exhibit in the collection.

The "Library" station is a gloomy realm of skeletal readers and Chief Librarian Boris, with a living book for a head. Here, Nikolai must negotiate with the impudent talking book "Search Query" and pass its tricky test—guess the correct continuation of a poem to find the next station. Failure is a permanent relegation to the housekeeping or knitting advice department.

The "Last Ticket" station is a deserted, late-night waiting room where the pretty worker, Maria, conducts an absurd "express interview" to test the passenger's "existential readiness." Match the correct combination of answers, and you'll receive the coveted ticket for the "train to nowhere."

The Secret They're Keeping From You

At the stations, Nikolai is met by Echo—a mysterious figure in a conductor's uniform and white mask. Echo offers help in exchange for silence: Anastasia mustn't know about it. But the further the train travels, the more questions arise. Why is Nikolai even here? Who is Anastasia—the "boss of this game"? What connects her to Echo, Boris, and Maria, all of whom have known each other since time immemorial? And what happened to the previous passenger, Kirill, who is only hinted at—"it's a shame this happened to him"?

The final choice will decide everything. To Echo's question, "How much does your 'I' weigh?" there is only one correct answer—and the price of curiosity turns out to be higher than the cost of the trip home.
