A battle pet that lives on your desktop. Glims walk your taskbar, live in a 3D house you furnish and work for gold — and when you call, they defend your screen from an invasion or dive a 20-floor dungeon. A free, lightweight game that plays along while you work, even offline.

About This Game

A battle pet that lives on your desktop — and now has a home.

Glims don't live inside a window. They walk along your taskbar, climb the edges of your programs, sit down, take naps and talk to each other while you work. When you call them, the game happens on your screen — not in a fullscreen window on top of it.

THE HOUSE

A small, transparent isometric 3D house in the corner of your screen. Furnish each room by dragging pieces from a catalog of nearly two hundred, pick the floor and the wall color, and drag your glims in and out — they live in the house or on the desktop, never both. Buy new rooms with in-game gold: in the living room they rest; in the office, the workshop and the training area they work, earn gold and get tired. Each room has its own catalog.

INVASION: DEFEND YOUR DESKTOP

A jade lawn assembles over your desktop and the invaders come in from the right, lane by lane. You plant your glims to hold them: swords hold the line up close, bow and magic hit from across the field. Cards drop onto the lawn mid-match and fly into your hand with one click. Every stage they come faster and tougher — how far can you hold?

THE DUNGEON, TWENTY FLOORS

Build a squad of up to three and go down floor by floor. The fighting is automatic; enemies have special moves of their own, and every three floors a boss waits. After it, the only question that matters — walk away with the loot, or go one floor deeper? Whoever falls stays down, and anything not banked is lost.

THE TAVERN AND THE ARENA

At the tavern, a card game of combat: cards are strikes with a force and a style, hands are combos named after dojo moves, and trinkets bend the rules. In the arena, a squad duel with glimbucks on the line — the currency only the arena pays.

TEN GLIMS TO COLLECT

Each with a card, stats and a way of fighting of their own. Weapons are real 3D models fitted into the hand — or stowed on the back, for those who fight with claws and magic. Special weapons are numbered: every piece carries its own serial number. Swap them in the inventory and see the change on screen right away.

FREE, LIGHT AND OFFLINE

The game is free and runs without a connection. It's light, it stays on all day, and it never gets in the way of what you're doing. Purchases are optional and fixed: three packs with their contents listed — nothing random costs money. Chests, furniture and rooms are bought with gold earned by playing.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of the 3D character models in Glims were made with the help of generative AI: reference art was produced with an AI image tool and turned into 3D meshes with Meshy. Every model was then cleaned up, re-rigged, animated and hand-tuned by us, and all game code, design, UI art and animation work is human-made. No generative AI runs while you play — nothing is generated live.
