About This Game

Ec(h)osystem is a single-player first-person exploration game deep underground in a fantastical cave system.

You don't know where you are and everything is dark. All you can do is snap your fingers and listen for a response. Through echolocation you'll discover luminous creatures and humming mushrooms while trying to find a way around collapsed tunnels. Something must've happened down here. It shook up the whole underground world. You need to find out what it is and prevent it from happening again.

Trust your ears

Ec(h)osystem is an audio-driven exploration experience. That means your ears, more than your eyes, give you information. You can play with and without your vision. If you're a sighted player try to close your eyes now and then while playing. Simply trust your ears and listen very closely - you'll start to hear the world around you.

Explore the Ecosystem

Although not visible at first glance, the underground tunnels are full of life. Humming mushrooms, glowing jellyfish and weird little creatures curiously reach their tiny tentacles into the darkness. Here everything communicates by sound and that is how you can find them. You'll need to learn from them - after all, they were down here long before you, and they are the ones that can help you find your way.

Demo

Ec(h)osystem is currently a demo in development. The main focus is still to get feedback from the community and work on making the game a truly accessible experience, playable with and without vision. Feel free to wishlist and follow our progress.

Enchoi Games is a small women-led indie studio from Germany, and Ec(h)osystem is its first title. Starting out with just two people - we found some help and now there're five of us working on the game. Ec(h)osystem grew from our love of immersive storytelling and playful sound design, and using both as vehicles to create games playable with and without vision.
