What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Human Error is the kind of game that needs real players to really figure out what works. The fun comes from people trying to act like robots while someone else watches them and tries to spot anything that seems human. A lot of that depends on timing, balance, and the strange things people do when they know someone is watching them.

The main game is working, but I want feedback on the different roles, tasks, robot behavior, Inspector events, and anything that seems unfair or confusing. I think Early Access is the best way to improve the game while also finding out which parts people enjoy the most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect it to be in Early Access for around 6 to 12 months. That could change depending on what players find, how much the game changes during testing, and how long the multiplayer systems take to get right, but the game is largely done and just needs some tweaks and balance.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more tasks, more machines, additional factory layouts, more Inspector events, better robot behavior, and more things that can happen during a shift. I'm also hoping to include full controller and Steamdeck support. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The main game loop is playable now. You can be a Worker who is secretly a human hiding inside a robot, a Supervisor who walks around giving robots orders, or an Inspector who watches the factory and causes events to see how the robots react.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will probably increase when the game leaves Early Access because the finished version is planned to have more content, multiplayer, and additional polish.

I haven't decided on the final price yet. Anyone who buys the game during Early Access will receive the full version without having to buy it again.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to pay attention to Steam discussions, bug reports, reviews, and any other feedback players give me.

I especially want to know how people feel about the three roles, whether the robots behave convincingly, which tasks and events are fun, and what feels unfair or difficult to understand. I also want to know about the funny or unexpected things that happen during shifts, because those moments are a big part of what the game is supposed to be.

I will post updates and patch notes as the game changes, and player feedback will help me decide what needs the most work and what should be added next.

About This Game

HUMAN ERROR is all about blending in. The humans are disguised as ordinary worker robots, moving through a bright, sterile factory of identical machines. Your job is to look like just another unit: complete your tasks, follow orders, and imitate the robots around you until your shift is over and you can sneak out.

------------------------

Three ways to play:

Hide as a Worker - As a human you have taken control of a worker bot that you crawled inside of. Don't ask how you control it. That's future stuff. You are surrounded by machines, but try to keep it together. Do your tasks, keep the battery charged up, and when the Supervisor barks an order, respond like a robot would, on time in the right voice, and without missing a beat. One slow reaction is all it takes. Do. Not. Get. Caught.

Command as the Supervisor - You patrol the floor giving orders and testing units. To find out who is human, you have to read behavior. Who paused a beat too long? Who took the wrong route? Who fumbled the response? Just remember, you have a limited number of decommission authorizations, and every innocent machine you scrap is one you can't take back.

Disrupt as the Inspector - From above the floor, the inspector observes. Spend credits on chaos like blackouts, EMP bursts, charger shorts, and more to rattle the workers and flush out the human hiding among them.

------------------------

This is not a voting game
There are no meetings and there are no ballots. Humans are caught only by direct observation and testing. If you want to survive, you're going to have to actually act like a machine.
