About This Game

FISH.OS is an idle fishing game built inside a fake operating system from 1997. You fish, sell the catch, upgrade your gear, buy boats that keep working while you're gone, and reset everything for a multiplier once the numbers get silly. It also comes with a card game, a paint program and a music player, since that's what used to ship on the disc.

Every system is a window. Open the fishing app and drag it wherever you want, keep the market running next to it, and leave the aquarium bubbling away in the back. You can arrange the desktop however you like or minimize the whole operating system, and the fish keep biting either way.

Every fish gets a pixel-art entry in the Fishpedia, sorted by rarity and by the zone it lives in. Common fish fill the log quickly and the rare tiers take a long time. You can fuse duplicates into hybrids, show off your best catches in an aquarium you decorate yourself, and push the completion percentage up a decimal at a time.

Buy boats, send them out on expeditions and let the fish in your tank earn for you. When you come back the next day there's a full balance waiting and a report on everything the fleet brought in overnight. Offline earnings are there from your first boat, and you never pay extra for them.

Compact mode docks FISH.OS along the bottom of your screen, right above the taskbar, with the water, your boats and the catch dial. Fish bite and boats go by while you do something else, and one click lands the catch. Expand it again whenever you want the full desktop back.

Formatting the drive wipes your progress and gives you a permanent multiplier. Build better rods in the workshop, crack rocks for materials in the lab, unlock new fishing zones and earn titles along the way, and each run gets you further than the last.

FISH.OS comes with Solitaire, FishSweeper, Fish 2048, a paint program with layers and TunaPlayer for music, plus desktop themes, a screensaver and a seagull, and every one of them works.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

A 2D pixel art tool was used for concepting and shaping some assets. The final art was hand created using the AI versions as reference. This was used primarily for the desktop icons. The rest of the game's art, including all fish sprites and item icons, was made without AI.
