A first-person, ink-wash deckbuilding roguelike. Descend six floors into the Ink Abyss with a dying lamp: 180 cards, three unlockable walkers, and a three-phase nightmare waiting at the bottom. Death only inks the stone — you come back stronger. But something down there is turning your pages.

About This Game

The abyss swallowed the light. You go down to collect the debt.

INK ABYSS WALKER is a first-person, ink-wash deckbuilding roguelike. Carrying a dying lamp, you walk painted corridors floor by floor into the deep — exploration plays in first person, combat is turn-based cardplay, and what you see is not always what is true.

Formation-based card combat

  • Enemies stand in rows: melee can't reach the back line, and knockbacks, fills, ambushes and lamplight rewrite every fight
  • 180 cards across eight archetypes: Combo, Gu-poison, Thorns, Blood, Taboo, Growth, Heavy, and Common
  • Chain cards to build Ink Momentum — at 9 chains, the sky itself spills ink

Six floors, six sets of rules

  • Road of Dying Lamps, Phosphor Grotto, Violet Miasma, the Judges' Hall, the Abyss Floor, and the Void — each floor plays by different rules and whispers different lies
  • A three-phase nightmare waits at the bottom; beyond the first Cycle, the Faceless and the Matriarch fight by crueler rules
  • Madness pollutes your deck; fall into a Delusion and friend and foe blur together

A cycle that makes death useful

  • Ink the stone: every death settles into permanent upgrades (Body / Edge / Sight, three ranks each)
  • Three walkers to unlock: the Walker, the Lamp-Keeper, the Gu-Master — the latter two must be earned by how you play
  • New Game+ Cycles: winning is not the end. Affixes rot the floors, and the abyss grows crueler each round

And more

  • The Archive: six volumes, 179 entries to uncover
  • 27 judgments (including hidden ones), a daily challenge and five trial runs
  • Fully procedural ink-wash rendering, playable in English and Chinese

It remembers what you did. The merchant knows your face. The idol keeps your tab. And the Matriarch… knows you too.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

INK ABYSS WALKER was crafted by a single indie developer. During development, AI tools were used as an assist to produce quick, early drafts of some illustrations and text — helping an ink-soaked idea take shape as images and words more efficiently. The core gameplay, worldbuilding, card and number balance, narrative, and overall tone, however, were all led, iterated and finalised by hand by the developer. AI is a tool that helps an idea move faster — not the author of it. Everything you see was selected, refined and re-crafted by a person, to keep faith with the game's ink-wash spirit. Thank you to every walker who carries the lamp onward.
