About This Game

You set out for the New World aboard a sailing ship bound for a distant shore. But storms and disease have changed the course of the voyage. Many have already died, and now only nine people remain — you, and eight others.

The ship is still moving forward, but the captain has made a grim discovery: the food and fresh water left on board may not be enough to keep everyone alive until you reach your destination. Still, no one wants to give up. Everyone on this ship wants to see the New World.

Every person consumes precious food and water, but every person also has a reason to be here. The cook prepares what little food remains. The doctor treats the sick. The captain and first mate try to maintain order, while the navigator and sailors keep the ship running. One less person may mean one less mouth to feed — but it may also mean losing someone the ship cannot easily replace.

You are only one of the nine, and at first, you have little authority over what happens on board.

To make matters worse, a severe illness has taken away part of your memory. You can no longer clearly remember what kind of relationship you once had with the others, but they may still remember you. Some may have trusted you. Some may have hated you. And some things about your past may be known only to them.

You will have to get to know the crew again through conversations, observation, and the events that unfold during the voyage, slowly discovering their personalities, their relationships, and the history you share with them.

The journey will not remain peaceful. Food may disappear. Arguments may break out. Illness can spread, and other problems will begin to surface as the voyage drags on. Some incidents may lead to meetings where the crew questions one another, throws accusations, or comes to someone's defense. You can speak your mind and take part in deciding what happens next.

At the beginning, you are just an ordinary person with little influence over the ship. But as people fall ill, relationships change, and the balance of power begins to shift, you may find yourself rising to a more important position. Eventually, your decisions may affect how food is distributed, how rules are enforced, how people are punished, and even what happens to the lives of the others around you.

As the voyage continues, storms and disease will no longer be the greatest danger.

The real problem will become the nine people trapped together on a ship with fewer and fewer resources.

When there is no longer enough food and water for everyone to reach the New World, you may choose to sacrifice yourself and give the others a better chance of surviving. You may decide that your own life matters more, and do whatever you can to last a little longer.

Or you may do nothing at all, watching the supplies slowly disappear until no one aboard the ship is able to continue the voyage.
