A slightly grown-up room

No museum has its whole collection on the walls. This DLC is the part that stayed in storage: masterpieces containing nudity, and masterpieces whose subject is blood and violence, added to your collection. Nothing sexual — just the human body as art history has always painted it, and the killing and dying it has always painted too.

Why they are kept apart

Every one of them is in the textbooks. Even so, there are days when you would rather not look at nudity or blood. So they came off the walls of the base game and were gathered into this one room. Whether you open the door is up to you.

Where you will find them

They become selectable in Free Play and elsewhere in the game. They never come up in the Daily Challenge, so everyone competes on the same board whether they own this DLC or not.

All of them real

Every painting is a high-resolution scan of the public-domain original. Not a copy, not an imitation. What you put your brush to is art history itself.

Base game required

NEVER HAPPENED (the base game) is required to play this DLC.

This DLC adds real classical paintings that are in the public domain (all artists died before 1955). The set of paintings will keep growing and changing, but everything added is a classical painting of the same kinds, and the content stays within the following range.

- Non-sexual artistic nudity: nude figures with exposed breasts or buttocks. In a few Renaissance works genitalia are visible, in the same non-sexual, art-historical way. Examples: Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam", Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights".

- Violence, death and blood as the subject of a history, religious or mythological painting: beheadings and executions, dead bodies, pools of blood, a dissected body, the wounds of the crucifixion. Examples: Gentileschi's "Judith Beheading Holofernes", Goya's "The Third of May 1808", Rembrandt's "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp", Vermeer's "Saint Praxedis", Goya's "Saturn Devouring His Son".

All of them are still images of paintings made centuries ago: there is no interactive violence, no gore effects and no blood effects. There is no sexual activity and no eroticised content of any kind. The DLC adds the paintings and their captions only - no new story, characters or dialogue.
