The phone rings at 3 AM. It is your wife. She is screaming something about zombies, nukes, or the literal end of the world. The exact details do not matter. She is 300 miles away and you need to go right now. You grab whatever random junk you can carry from the house, jump in the car, and hit the dark highway.

Now there is nothing between you and her but an empty fuel gauge and the desperate strangers waiting on the shoulder.

THE PASSENGER SEAT

You are not playing a standard racing game. You are living inside the cabin. Rummage through the glovebox, light a cigarette, and watch the headlights cut through the panic. It is just you and the open road. At least until you spot someone in the dark.

EVERY HITCHER LIES

The apocalypse brings out the weirdos. You will find hitchhikers begging for a ride and picking them up is a massive gamble. A talkative stranger might hand you the exact supplies you need to keep moving. Or they might lead you straight into an ambush. Listen closely because every single person is hiding something.

YOUR POCKETS DECIDE YOUR FATE

Remember that stuff you grabbed from the house before you left? That was not just set dressing. The specific items you bring completely change the game. What is in your pockets dictates which hitchhikers spawn, what encounters trigger, and how your night unfolds. Choose poorly and your run ends at a bloody gas station.

MANY WAYS TO DIE

This road trip takes more than one try. You will get robbed. You will run out of gas. You will absolutely die a few times before sunrise. But if you play your cards right, read the lies, and manage your cabin well, you just might make it to her.
