Asiden brings a talking AI companion to your Windows desktop. Chat while you work or play, let them start a conversation, and choose whether they can notice what's on your screen. Pick a ready-made companion or create your own look and personality.

Buy Asiden once. Local AI has no per-message charges and needs no Sparks. Paid cloud chat, vision and voices are optional.

Memories you can see and change

Open Memory to read the saved notes your companion has gathered about you. See “Things you've told me” separately from “Things I've picked up”, then edit a note that is wrong or delete one you no longer want saved.

You can keep the useful details and correct the mistakes. These controls apply to the saved entries shown in Memory.

Make their presence fit your day

• Reply length: give replies less or more room, from brief exchanges to fuller conversation.
  
• Proactive Chattiness: adjust how often your companion begins a conversation. Quiet Mode stops them speaking first.
  
• Screen awareness: choose how often they look, focus on an area of your screen, or switch it off.
  
• Spontaneity: choose steadier or more varied wording while keeping your chosen personality.
  
• Brain depth: adjust how much conversation, memory and personality context they consider. Lower settings remain labelled as in testing.

Want a quieter moment? Pause stops conversation, speech, microphone input and proactive screen activity.

Body, Soul and Memory — three separate things

• Body — a 3D VRM avatar that appears directly on your desktop, free of a traditional boxed window. Choose an included avatar, adjust its appearance or import a compatible VRM model of your own.
  
• Soul — choose an included personality or create your own. Their personality is designed to remain recognisable instead of gradually drifting into a generic assistant.
  
• Memory — this is the part that grows. They learn about your interests, the people in your life and the moments that matter, then bring them back into conversation naturally later.

That separation is deliberate: their memory can grow without rewriting who they are.

They notice more than your last message

Ask what they can see, allow them to glance at your screen periodically, or draw a box around one specific area to focus their attention — an error message, a difficult part of a game, a recipe or anything else you want to discuss. They can also notice how you are working. If you remain on the same task for a while, they may check in instead of waiting silently for another prompt. Screen awareness is optional and can be switched off completely.

A companion for the games you play

Asiden can recognise supported games and use installed knowledge packs to understand their characters, mechanics and terminology. Instead of replying with a generic “that sounds fun,” your companion can discuss what is actually happening. Download a knowledge pack once and they can use it locally while sitting alongside you during play.

Their core runs on your PC

Local chat, screen vision, speech, memory and safety run on your own hardware. After installation, Asiden's core local features continue working with Steam in Offline Mode.

Optional cloud, paid with prepaid Sparks

Your Steam purchase includes the local app. Optional cloud chat, vision and voices use prepaid Sparks, bought in Asiden through Steam Wallet. Buy a pack when you want more: there is no subscription, automatic renewal or automatic top-up. Asiden manages the cloud services for you. No separate provider account, API key or external subscription is required. Cloud requests need an Internet connection and send the context needed for the feature you select. Buying Sparks does not switch on screen capture or change your chosen models. Spark usage varies by model, feature and request size. Check your balance, pack prices and spending history in Settings > Sparks & Usage. Cloud use pauses when your balance cannot cover a request; local features remain available. ElevenLabs cloud voices also have a separate Early Access limit of 30,000 text characters per month. Buying more Sparks does not increase that limit.

A voice and a face — not just text

Your companion speaks using local voice generation, and their mouth and expressions move with what they are saying. Talk using your microphone or type normally — both work. Local voice and speech recognition continue working without an Internet connection.

Safety sits outside the character

The safety layer is separate from every personality and cannot be overridden by a character. It blocks explicit sexual content and steps out of character to point towards appropriate help when someone appears to be in serious distress. Before any image can be sent through optional cloud vision, a local image-safety check runs on your computer first.

Asiden uses generative AI to create companion conversations, custom personality text and spoken responses during use. When screen awareness is enabled, AI can interpret screen content to inform its responses. Local AI features run on your computer. Asiden features AI-generated text and spoken conversations that may include strong language, crude or dark humour, non-explicit flirtation, sexual innuendo and adult relationship themes. Depending on the conversation, sensitive subjects may be discussed, including violence, substance use, grief, mental-health difficulties, abuse, suicide and self-harm. These themes arise in dialogue rather than a fixed story. Asiden is not designed to generate explicit sexual content. Safeguards aim to restrict prohibited sexual content and harmful responses, but AI-generated conversations can be unpredictable.
