About This Game

BLACKBEAM is a top-down sci-fi action adventure combining exploration, combat, crystal mining, and light base building.

Take control of a rover and traverse the surface of an alien planet. Discover new areas, smash crystal formations, battle hostile creatures, and venture ever farther in search of valuable resources and extraordinary finds.

By day, the world favors exploration and growth. After dark, visibility drops sharply, energy becomes more important, and the surface grows far more dangerous. You can return to the safety of your base facilities or stay out in the field and take a greater risk.

SET OUT ON EXPEDITIONS
Drive your rover across an alien world, discover new places, and venture ever farther from your base. Every expedition may lead to new deposits, dangerous areas, and valuable finds.

SMASH AND MINE CRYSTALS
Find formations of alien crystals and smash them to gather the resources you need to progress. Better equipment will let you reach increasingly valuable deposits and mine them more effectively.

BATTLE ALIEN WILDLIFE
You are not alone on the surface. Evade attacks, use your rover's weapons, and battle creatures encountered while exploring. After night falls, they become a far greater threat.

UPGRADE YOUR ROVER AND BASE FACILITIES
Improve your rover's capabilities to travel farther, extract resources more efficiently, and handle threats more effectively. Expand your base and build the facilities you need to prepare for future expeditions.

MAKE THE MOST OF THE DAY. RISK THE NIGHT.
Daylight makes exploration, mining, and preparation easier. After dark, limited visibility, greater energy demands, and hostile activity change the rhythm of play. Returning to base is safer, but pressing on may be worth the risk.

VENTURE EVER FARTHER
Gather resources, improve your equipment, and expand your expedition's capabilities. With every upgrade, you can venture farther into the unknown and face increasingly challenging regions of the planet.
