About This Game

The adventurers have been robbing shopkeepers their whole lives. Tonight, you're behind the counter and they're the ones trying to talk you down.

Twilight Tavern is a cozy first-person shop sim about the six hours between 8 PM and 2 AM. Light the door lantern, open up, and see who wanders in.

EVERY CUSTOMER IS A NEGOTIATION

When a customer asks for something, you negotiate price and they answer. Ask too much and they counter. Push further and they walk away.

Three kinds of buyer sit across the counter from you, and each haggles differently.

  • The Cheap Buyer lowballs you at whatever you ask.

  • The Rich Impatient Buyer might just say yes or meet you at their limit and go no further.

  • The Suspicious Buyer negotiates hard and pays in coin you should probably look at twice.

You get two or three attempts per customer. Spend them well.

LEARN WHO WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR

Fifteen named regulars across ten hand-built species:

  • grim reapers

  • vampires

  • witches

  • ghosts

  • goblin peddlers

  • a drifting jellyfish

  • a hopping mushroom monk

  • a snail who takes his time.

They come back, and the shop remembers

MAKE IT YOURSELF

Order stock from Moss & Moon Wholesale, or forage ingredients from Thornwick and craft the things nobody else sells like:

  • Moonroot Salve

  • Starfire Elixir

  • Warding Charms

  • Dragonfire Lamp.

Six recipes unlock as you grow, and the later ones need the earlier ones.

Regulars will commission work directly: craft it, shelve it, and they return the next night to collect at the price you agreed.

RUN IT WITH YOUR HANDS

This is a shop you physically work. Carry products from the backroom.

Slot them onto shelves.

When a customer buys something, walk over, take it off the shelf, and hand it across the counter yourself.

Buy bigger shelves, rearrange them, and fill the room with rugs, barrels, an armchair, etc.

Name the place whatever you like.

SOME COINS ARE FAKE

Sell to the wrong customer and the payment turns worthless.

You lose revenue and your product to a scammer.

Tip: Watch out for what they say, you are the judge of character

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

I'm a solo developer, and I'd rather be upfront about where AI tools were used.

The character base meshes and some of their textures were generated with AI.

Every one of them was then brought into Blender and worked over by hand. Cleaned up, edited, re-textured and animated before it went anywhere near the game.

They're all rendered with a toon shader I wrote myself.

Everything else is made by hand.
The tavern, the props and the whole environment are hand modeled.

Other than that, everything else in the game was made by me.
