2:01 a.m. The jewelry store’s safe is opened using the night manager’s code. At 2:03 a.m., a gunshot rings out in the stockroom. When you arrive, Sergio Lobo is dead from a 9mm gunshot wound, a five-carat diamond is missing, and the front door shows no signs of forced entry.

No one came in through the front. Someone knew the service corridors.

This demo is a complete case

It’s not a vertical slice or an extended tutorial: it’s the first complete case in *Chains of Clues*, from the crime scene to the verdict.

You explore the jewelry store, the warehouse, and the maintenance room. You photograph each piece of evidence before touching it, label it, and collect it. You turn on the ultraviolet light to examine areas that appear clean to the naked eye. You return to the office, print out what you need, cross-reference the forensic reports with the security camera footage and each suspect’s statements, and set up the whiteboard with thumbtacks and string until the chain of evidence holds up on its own.

Then you sign an indictment. No one will confirm it for you beforehand, and if you make a mistake, the case will be closed on false grounds.

After the demo

The full game consists of five cases. After the jewelry store case, there’s a kidnapping involving torture in two warehouses connected by a tunnel, a settling of scores at a ranch on the outskirts of Madrid, a nighttime bank robbery that goes wrong, and a serial killer who leaves a playing card at each crime scene.
