The Red Truck DLC adds a new storm chasing vehicle to Tornado: Research and Rescue.

The Red Truck has its own engine sounds and handling characteristics, but its biggest difference is that it can carry two research probes instead of one.

Having a second probe gives you far more flexibility during a chase. You can gather research data twice as fast, release chemicals into the tornado twice as quickly, or deploy probes in different locations when the tornado's path is difficult to predict.
