is an unfinished, unguided narrative sim where you hunt people. A karma system watches everything but never punishes you for it. No objectives, no hand-holding, no score, just an idea, running loose.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“HitPsycho is an unfinished game that is actively being developed. Early Access gives players the opportunity to play the current version while development continues.

The game is still being built, so systems, mechanics, presentation, and content may change substantially during development. Features such as the karma system, investigation loop, and justification mechanics are not final and may be reworked, expanded, or removed as development progresses.

The current Early Access version represents the game as it exists today, not a promise of a finished experience. Feedback from players will help inform development, but not every suggestion will necessarily be implemented.

The goal of Early Access is to develop HitPsycho alongside its players and gradually expand the game's systems and content toward the full release.

If you're looking for a finished and polished game, HitPsycho is not there yet. If you're interested in playing an evolving project and seeing its systems develop over time, Early Access is the place to experience it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Honestly, we don't know yet, and we'd rather say that than throw out a date we can't keep.

HitPsycho started as an idea rather than a production plan, so there isn't a fixed roadmap counting down to a 1.0 release. Development will be iterative, and the game will continue to change as systems are developed, tested, refined, or replaced.

Our rough estimate is **at least 6–12 months in Early Access, and potentially longer**. We'll provide updates as development progresses and revise that estimate if our plans change.

If you're planning to wait for the full release, that's completely fair. HitPsycho is genuinely early in development, and the Early Access version should be considered an evolving work in progress rather than a finished game.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Right now, HitPsycho is closer to a working idea than a finished game. The core gameplay loop exists, but many of the systems and content surrounding it are still being developed.

Here's what we currently expect the full release to add beyond the Early Access version:

**More cases and targets**
The current pool of scenarios is small. The full release is planned to include significantly more variety in who you're investigating, the situations surrounding each case, and the reasons behind each investigation.

**Expanded gameplay systems**
The existing systems will be expanded and refined as development continues. Some mechanics may also be changed or replaced if they don't work well in practice.

**More content and variety**
The full release is planned to offer a larger range of situations and interactions, giving the core investigation loop more depth and replayability.

The exact content may change during development. HitPsycho is still being built, so this represents our current direction rather than a fixed list of guaranteed features.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version contains the basic foundation of HitPsycho. You can move around the game world, interact with NPCs, and experience the core gameplay loop.

The game is still very early in development, so the amount of content and variety is currently limited. Many of the systems, cases, interactions, and other content planned for the full release are not yet available.

The current version should be considered a playable foundation that will be expanded and refined throughout Early Access.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as HitPsycho receives additional content and features during Early Access.

The Early Access price will be lower than the expected price at full release. Players who purchase during Early Access will receive the game as it continues to develop, while the price may increase as the amount of content and overall scope grows.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of development during Early Access.

We'll use player feedback, reports, and discussions to identify problems, evaluate existing mechanics, and determine which parts of the game need improvement. Feedback may also influence future features and content.

Not every suggestion will be implemented, but we'll use the community's experiences with the game to help guide development and make improvements throughout Early Access.

About This Game

A game where you have a code, and you have your reasons. Every target deserves it you've made sure of that. But certainty is a strange thing to trust when it's the only witness to your own actions.

HitPsycho is a narrative sim about a man who kills, told entirely from the inside of his own justification. There's no tutorial walking you through what kind of person you are. There's no objective telling you what "winning" looks like. You investigate, you decide, you act and the game just keeps running with whatever you chose, no matter what that says about you.

Underneath it all, something is keeping track. A karma-like system watches everything you do but it doesn't lock content, dock resources, or punish you mechanically for anything. It costs you nothing. It just remembers. What it means, if anything, is left entirely up to you to figure out.

This is not a complete vision. HitPsycho started as an idea and is being built as one, rough edges included. It's less a polished experience than a loose system you drop into and see what happens. No hand-holding, no guardrails, no promise that it'll all resolve neatly. Pick it up. See what it does. Put it down.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The game contains graphic depictions of violence and gore. The player takes the role of a killer, and gameplay includes killing characters and scenes depicting blood and violent injuries. These themes are presented as part of the game's horror content.
