Sit down at a séance table in an abandoned house. Choose a tarot card. Roll the dice and risk everything to summon the Angel who never lies. Every reach across the table might bring you closer to the truth—or seat something else opposite you. Five chairs. The dead have heard you, too.

About This Game

EXCISA is a tense, first-person occult horror roguelite where your choices are the only thing separating you from the truth—or whatever is sitting across the table.

THE ANGEL NEVER LIES. THE DEAD HEAR YOU, TOO.

Buried deep within a forgotten internet forum lies an anonymous post. Its author details the steps of a ritual used to summon an Angel inside an abandoned house—an entity that answers a single question with the absolute truth. No half-truths. No lies.

Anna's brother vanished without a trace years ago. After the police declared it a cold case and moved on, Anna stumbled upon the post. In desperation, she performed the ritual to learn the answer to the one question that had haunted her for years:

“What happened to my brother?”

After Anna, it's your turn.

You have your own question—the one that keeps you awake at night. It already lies folded on the séance board. The tarot cards are ready. The dice are in your hand. Tonight, you cross the threshold of the House.

The Angel knows the answer.

You just have to summon it.

THE CARD IS THE CHOICE. THE DICE ARE THE RISK.

Every action consumes a turn. When you choose to summon, select one of three tarot cards drawn from the Major Arcana. Each card foretells two things: what it may grant if the roll favors you—and what may answer if it turns against you.

Then, you must decide: how many dice will you roll?

  • 1 or 2 dice can bring money, healing, luck, and tools. They prepare you for what's coming—but you can never complete the ritual this way.

  • 3 dice are the only path to the Angel. Only the highest possible roll advances the ritual. Anything else means silence. Or something worse.

The dice are loud. The more you roll, the more the House notices you.

FIVE CHAIRS. ELEVEN UNINVITED GUESTS.

Every roll is a flare in the dark. Your call isn't just heard by the Angel; it's heard by eleven distinct nightmares starving for this world. Each comes with its own rules, behaviors, and weaknesses:

  • One bites every turn.

  • One copies itself.

  • One only moves when you reach for the Angel.

  • One calls another guest to the table.

Learn to recognize who has taken a seat across from you—and figure out how to banish them.

NO TRADITIONAL HUD. THE ROOM TELLS YOU EVERYTHING.

  • Your trembling hands show how much health you have left.

  • The six burning candles are your clock. When they burn out, your time is up.

  • Your heartbeat warns you when fear is about to overwhelm you.

Order supplies through a disconnected phone.

Ask for holy water, salt, iron nails, or another ritual tool. No one answers. Moments later, a portal opens above the table, and what you asked for falls through.

Blessings bend fate in your favor. Cursed items poison every roll—but offer real power in return. Keep one and accept its bargain, or sacrifice a precious turn and surrender it to the bowl.

The bowl accepts more than objects. When you need better odds, it will take blood instead—health offered in exchange for luck.

SIX DEPTHS DOWNWARD

Descend through six depths. Each depth introduces a new twist while keeping everything that came before it in play.

The flames burn lower. The near-misses leave their mark. Nothing stays quiet anymore.

STAND UP—OR STAY SEATED.

Between depths, you must decide:

  • Stand up: Bank your score and leave the table behind while you still can.

  • Stay seated: Continue with everything you've gained—and every curse still lying in front of you. If you die before standing up, the progress of your entire session is lost.

ASK, IF YOU DARE.

Survive the night. Reach the Angel.

What you claim in the House is yours forever.

The ritual awaits. Choose a card.
