Chess With Magic

Immortal Chess keeps the core rules of chess intact, but adds classes, Mana, spells, traps, and unique skills that create entirely new ways to play.

Every standard chess move grants Mana, except White’s first move which solves natural advantage of moving first. The first capture of the match also grants one additional Mana.

 Use Mana to disrupt your opponent, protect your pieces, escape seemingly impossible situations or create opportunities that could never exist in traditional chess.

Choose Your Class

Each class comes with its own spells, passive skill and offers a different way to approach the game.

Currently available classes:

Inquisitor • Champion • Sentinel • Disruptor • Cultist • Monarch • Strider • Necromancer • Mage

Future updates will introduce more classes to the game and new fun ways to play.

Every Match Plays Differently

Chess is still chess and spells are there to expand its strategy, not replace it.

You do not know every opening? That is fine because familiar openings can quickly turn into completely new positions, giving newer players a chance to compete without spending years studying theory. A familiar position can suddenly become dangerous, safe King may be exposed by a single spell, completely changing the direction of the match. Watch your opponent’s Mana, status effects and remaining durations, then build your strategy around the tools available to both players.

Compete in ranked, create casual matches or practice against the AI. You can also setup board or play both sides to test positions and experiment freely. Choose your preferred server, play across PC and mobile through cross-platform multiplayer.

Fair Competition

Immortal Chess is free to play and will never be pay to play or pay to win. Your first class is free and after the first selection you will receive enough Essence points to unlock one or two additional classes of your choice. More classes can be unlocked with Essence earned by playing or purchased directly.

Cosmetic boards and pieces are also available, but purchases never increase the power of your spells or give direct advantages during a match.

Some artwork in Immortal Chess was originally generated with AI and a large part of it has already been replaced with a new hand painted art style. More will continue to be replaced because the original AI generated artwork simply does not meet the visual quality and consistency I want for the game. The long term art direction is a cohesive hand painted fantasy style.
