About This Game

An endless fishing journey that sits on your taskbar

Patchy: The Legendary Fish is a cozy idle fishing game that lives along the bottom of your screen. A little lakeside diorama sits right on top of your taskbar, and your angler fishes in it all day while you work, browse or watch videos. Clicks pass straight through to your desktop, so it never gets in your way.

Automated Fishing

  • Your angler casts, waits and reels in on their own.

  • When a bite alert comes up, click it fast for a chance at a better fish.

  • Your angler keeps fishing while the game is closed, and your catches are waiting when you come back.

Real weather, in real time

The lake follows your computer's clock, from dawn to night. Type in your city and the weather matches yours too. Rain, storms, and fog each bring different fish to the surface, and some only bite at certain times of the day.

Catch and collect

  • 14 freshwater fish to find, from Fathead Minnows to the Lake Sturgeon, plus junk and lost treasure.

  • Your best catches swim in PawPaw's tank . It holds up to 50 fish, three of each kind, ranked by size.

  • Feed your fish every so often and watch them come up and eat just like real fish.

Hunt the legend

Every glimpse of Patchy's shadow and every snapped line goes in PawPaw's Journal, and each one raises your odds of finally catching him.

PawPaw Steven spent his whole life chasing Patchy: the biggest fish ever! Patchy is scarred and patched like an old coat, with a hundred rusty hooks hanging from his lip. Everybody around Steven's Lake has heard the legend but nobody has ever caught him, is Patchy even real? Now PawPaw's chair, rod, tank and journal are yours.

Pick one of six grandkids, each with their own strengths, weaknesses and trait, across Normal, Hard and Nightmare difficulties. Switch between them at any time.

Spend your coins on a better Rod, Line, Bait and Chair, each up to level 10.
