What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Hallness is being developed by a solo developer, and Early Access will allow me to improve the game with feedback from real VR players. Player feedback will be especially valuable for refining the atmosphere, physical interactions, enemy encounters, comfort, performance, and overall pacing of the experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Hallness to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. However, this timeframe may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the amount of additional polishing required.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan for the full version to include additional areas to explore, expanded environmental interactions, more enemy encounters, improvements to the enemy AI, further story and atmospheric elements, and more polished visuals and audio. I also plan to improve performance, VR comfort, balancing, and overall stability based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core VR gameplay systems, environmental exploration and interaction, enemy encounters, and the main atmospheric foundation of Hallness. The game is playable, but some areas and systems are still being developed or refined. Players should expect occasional bugs, performance issues, balance changes, and significant improvements throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase when Hallness leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content, improvements, and overall level of polish added during development. Any planned price changes will be communicated to the community in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to actively collect feedback through the Steam Community, player reviews, bug reports, and discussions. Feedback regarding VR comfort, performance, interactions, enemy behavior, level design, difficulty, and atmosphere will help guide development priorities. I will also share development updates and communicate important changes throughout the Early Access period.”

About This Game

Hallness is a virtual reality horror game that can be played alone or in online co-op.

You awaken in a place... endless-looking corridors, abandoned rooms, and environments that defy all logic. Explore these places, search for a way out, and try to survive whatever is watching you.

HORROR BUILT FOR VIRTUAL REALITY

In Hallness, you do not simply control a character: you are inside that place.

Look around, use your own hands, make your way through narrow corridors, and react physically when something approaches. Virtual reality turns every chase, every distant noise, and every unexpected movement into a much closer and more intense experience.

There is no screen protecting you from danger.

PHYSICAL INTERACTIONS

The world of Hallness was made to be touched.

Pick up, carry, throw, and manipulate objects using your own hands. Physical interactions and ragdolls make situations more unpredictable, especially when several players are trying to survive at the same time.

The environment is not just scenery — it is part of the experience.

EXPLORE ALONE OR WITH OTHER PLAYERS

Enter alone or gather a group to explore the environments of Hallness.

Communicate, investigate different areas, and help your companions during dangerous situations. But be careful: splitting up can be risky, while staying together may attract even more attention.

Player actions, physics, and the threat's behavior make every session unfold differently.

A THREAT THAT REACTS TO YOU

You are not alone.

The creature hunts the players and reacts to what happens during the match. Your movements, the sounds made by the group, and reckless decisions can reveal your position.

Running may save you.

Running may also help it find you.

BEAUTIFUL PLACES ARE NOT NECESSARILY SAFE

Hallness combines dark liminal spaces with surreal, colorful, and seemingly peaceful environments.

Some places feel empty. Others feel familiar. And some seem far too safe to be real.

Explore dreamcore and weirdcore settings. Each area has its own atmosphere, new mysteries, and different ways to make you question what you are seeing.
