What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Velocity already includes Midnight Run, Solo, and early versions of Crew and Online multiplayer, with four cars and eight districts. During Early Access, we plan to add more places to drive, cars, abilities, and game modes, plus pink-slip races and local split-screen. Player feedback will help us decide what to work on and how to improve it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last roughly 6 to 12 months. It may take longer if the planned features need more work.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add:

- More places to drive, inside Velo City and beyond.
- More cars.
- Pink-slip races: keep the car you drove in a Midnight Run, then race it against other players. Win and you take their car. Lose and yours is gone.
- More abilities for your loadout.
- More game modes.
- Local split-screen for two players on one screen.

These are plans, not promises, and may change based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Midnight Run, Solo, and early versions of Crew and Online multiplayer are playable today.

In Midnight Run, you join a field of 100 cars on an endless night road. Rivals, cops, new road types, and rain arrive as the run goes on. Each time you level up, you choose an upgrade. Play Midnight Run once to unlock the other modes.

Solo has eight districts, including three mountain passes. Choose your traffic density and toggle racers, cops, weather, repair pickups, and a timed mode as you unlock them. You can play with crashes off or with Hardcore on.

Online uses matchmaking. Crew has private rooms for 2 to 4 players, with the room leader choosing a gap race, timed versus, or timed co-op.

The four cars have distinct handling across FWD, RWD, and AWD drivetrains. Choose automatic or manual shifting, with overrev risk in manual, and divert power between acceleration, grip, and top speed while driving.

Build your loadout from three abilities (Nitrous, EMP, and Siren), 14 aftermarket parts, and 8 tire compounds. Customize paint, finish, rims, underglow, window tint, decals, and body-part swaps. Your profile tracks best distance, best style, best time, and in-game achievements.

Local split-screen is not available yet.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll use player feedback and bug reports to improve car balance, tune difficulty, and develop new districts. Community feedback will also help guide new cars, abilities, and game modes. You can reach us through the game's Steam Community discussions hub or on Instagram @velocitymrun.”

About This Game

Start in Midnight Run, racing through a field of 100 cars on an endless night road. Work your way toward the front as rivals and cops join the chase. City streets and alleys open up along the way, and the rain gets heavier the longer you last.

Each time you level up, choose from abilities, performance parts, and combo cards to build your car for the rest of the run.

Play Midnight Run once to unlock the other modes.

Solo

Pick a district and set the traffic density. As you unlock them, turn racers, cops, weather, repair pickups, and a time-limit mode on or off. Crashes are off by default. Unlock Hardcore to play runs where one crash ends the run.

Crew and Online

Join Online matchmaking or open a private Crew room for 2 to 4 players. The Crew room leader chooses a gap race, timed versus, or timed co-op.

Your car, your build

Drive four cars with distinct handling across FWD, RWD, and AWD drivetrains: the Kaze GT-R (FWD), Rampage 440 (RWD muscle), Tempest RS (AWD turbo), and Hachi GT, a lightweight RWD tuner you have to earn.
  • Shift automatically, or use manual shifting and risk overrevving the engine.
  • Divert power between acceleration, grip, and top speed during a run.
  • Spend style points on your loadout: choose Nitrous, EMP, or Siren as your ability, plus 14 aftermarket parts and 8 tire compounds.
  • Customize paint, finish, rims, underglow, window tint, and decals. Swap bumpers, hoods, and lights.

The city

Drive through eight districts: City Ring, Uptown, Downtown, Velo City, Back Streets, and the mountain passes of Switchback, Climb, and Descent. Follow other cars to catch their slipstream, and watch for lightning strikes during storms.

Your profile tracks best distance, best style, best time, and in-game achievements.
