Why Early Access?

“Velocity is fully playable today: solo endless-run driving through a procedurally generated night city, with car unlocks, district progression, cop AI, and a style-scoring system all in place. We're releasing into Early Access because the next major system we're building is multiplayer, including crew sessions, ghost replays, and head-to-head runs against real players. That's exactly the kind of feature that benefits from real player feedback on matchmaking, balance, and pacing before we lock it in.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last roughly 6-12 months, depending on how multiplayer testing goes. We'd rather take the time to get netcode, matchmaking, and balance right than rush the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add real multiplayer on top of the existing solo mode: crew sessions, ghost replays of other players' runs, and live head-to-head races. We also plan to keep expanding the car roster, city districts, and traffic/cop AI based on what players respond to during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can play the solo endless-run game today. You pick a car, choose your district, set the traffic pressure, and drive a procedural night city while cops, rivals, and denser roads push the run past your comfort zone.

The current build includes near-miss and style scoring, unlockable cars and districts from downtown out to Velo City, cop encounters, rival racer challenges, chase, high, and hood cameras, and a no-crash or hardcore difficulty toggle. Cars handle with FWD, RWD, and AWD differences, and you can choose automatic shifting or manual shifting with overrev risk. Your profile tracks best distance, best style, and best time.

You will not find multiplayer in this build. We plan to build crew sessions, ghost replays, and head-to-head runs during Early Access, then tune those systems with player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're building this in the open. Car balance, difficulty tuning, and new districts will be shaped directly by player feedback and bug reports during Early Access.
