What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Golf Course Architect Tycoon is a golf course builder and simulation game whose best version will come from building it alongside the people who play it. The core loop - figure out the land, build the holes, watch them get played, learn from it and earn money to build more holes and buy more courses - is here and already fun today. Early Access lets us grow it with real player feedback on balance, experience, and what to deepen next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning roughly 6–12 months in Early Access, adjusting to how development and community feedback go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand content and depth based on player feedback: biomes for different styles of golf course (desert, links, tropical) including new zones and objects, online functionality for course design challenges and community sharing, more depth to the simulation including weather and water management.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable. You can design and build complete courses, open them to a simulated field of golfers, and run the club and finances across a career and across a region with multiple courses. The gameplay trailer and screenshots give a pretty good idea of the basic features that are available, and there are more already waiting for players to discover.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase as the game grows toward its full release. Early Access supporters get in at the launch price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll gather feedback through the Steam community hub and use it to prioritize fixes and features, which will directly steer the roadmap.”

About This Game

You're the architect. This land could be a golf course — figure out how.

You arrive on a raw piece of land — hills, water, trees, open ground and tight corners — and it's on you to see what it could become. Where does the first tee sit? Does the green tuck into that hollow, or does the fairway bend around the water instead? Where do golfers warm up before they play, and where will they need to stop for food, drink, and bathroom breaks? You're standing on unbuilt land like the great golf architects of old, and now it's your turn to figure out how to turn it into somewhere people genuinely want to play a round of golf.

Read the land, then shape it

  • Sculpt the terrain — raise hills, dig valleys, carve ponds and streams, and reshape the ground itself until the land supports the course you're picturing.

  • Lay out each hole by hand — set the tee, choose the line to the green, and decide whether this is a short, tricky par 3 or a long par 5 that asks golfers to think their way down it.

  • Paint fairway, rough, green, bunker, water and more right onto the terrain, with saved layouts you can save and stamp for quick designs.

  • Plan the whole property, not just the holes — fit in a practice green, a driving range, the clubhouse amenities alongside the golf itself, and the trees and land around so the course feels like a real place.

  • Chase a hole that's both beautiful and fun to play — every hole gets scored on its looks and its playability, so you can keep adjusting until it's genuinely cozy and interesting, not just pretty from above.

Then watch people actually play it

  • Real golfers, real shots — a full field of golfers plays your course using a genuine shot model, so clubs, wind, terrain, and skill all matter. Watch your holes get played the way you imagined — or completely differently.

  • Let what you see shape what you build next — use the heatmap to notice where golfers land, where they struggle, and where a hazard you placed actually changes how they play the hole, then use that to plan the next one with more confidence.

  • Wildlife wanders the property — ambient critters, and legendary hawks and coyotes that will make their home on a course you've kept in good shape.

  • Photo mode for capturing the course at its best.

And run the place you built

  • Grow across a region — buy more land, build a course on each plot, and manage a whole portfolio from one shared wallet.

  • Reputation and green fees reward a course that's genuinely good to play, so getting the design right pays for itself.

  • Members and staff — sign club members, hire greenskeepers to keep the course in shape overnight, and run a touring beverage cart around the property.

  • Tournaments, plus a finances view so you can watch the business side come together alongside the golf.

  • Sandbox mode with infinite money, if you'd rather just build.

More

  • Play As — step onto the course and take a golfer's shots yourself.

  • Multiple languages (English plus several European locales) and metric/imperial units.

  • Watch the Broadcast sit back and tune in to a built in mode that follows golfers live with a team of commentators on the course.
