About This Game

One substitute. One class. Turn around and catch them mid-prank.

Chalk Down is a slapstick online party game for 4 to 7 friends. One of you is the substitute teacher. The rest are the class, and the class has plans.

Every second she faces the board is yours

Paper balls fly. Spitballs fly. Somebody crawls between the desks on their hands and knees. A whoopee cushion sneaks onto the teacher's chair.

Then the chalk goes down, she turns around, and the whole room has to look like angels. Frozen mid-step. Frozen mid-crawl. Frozen in somebody else's chair. Hold the pose and hope.

Be the class

Pass notes across the room. Wipe the board while she has her nose in a book. Swap seats. Flip the lights. When she goes hunting for evidence, make sure it turns up on your neighbor's desk.

Everybody is guilty. Nobody will admit it.

Be the sub

A paper ball smacks the back of your head. You spin round. Nobody moves. Somebody did this.

Inspect a desk for clues, point at a kid and accuse, or call the principal and let him point at the last prankster. Guess right and the culprit is busted. Guess wrong and the whole class laughs at you.

Caught? Haunt the hallway

Get sent to the principal's office and you come back as a ghost. Watch through the windows, knock on the door so the teacher has to stop and look, and put the lights out.

Roll call

Everybody takes a turn as the sub, and a report card hands out letter grades at the end.

  • Online through Steam: host a lobby, then share the join code or send an invite.

  • Optional proximity voice chat. Plan the chaos out loud, then swear it was not you.
