About This Game

Hollow Orbits 4X combines 4X strategy with the mechanics of a board game. Roll dice for your fleet’s weapons, and assign to your enemy ships. Claim victory through expansion, trade or diplomacy. Play solo, against AI, or with friends for dominance in a galaxy filled with ancient dangers and hidden treasures.

Plan your shots

Roll a die for every cannon, missile launcher, or railgun in your fleet. Dice can miss, hit, or trigger special effects — but the roll is only half the decision. You choose which enemy ships to target with each result and when to fire them. Ambush enemy fleets from asteroid fields and rain laser fire down on them from a distance, OR close in and unleash devastating attacks at point-blank range

And yes, fleet formation matters!

Simple yet deep fleet customization

Create glass cannons packed with missiles, armoured tanks, missile boats, or long-range artillery. Weapons that tear through capital ships may prove useless against light screens. Deploy mine layers, fighter bays, or boarding pods. There is no perfect build — only a bet on what you expect to face.

A Galaxy Worth Poking

Send your scouts ahead through nebulae, asteroid fields and dangerous storms to discover rich worlds, trade resources and uncover ancient ruins.

You are not alone out there. Small independent powers hold their own corners of the galaxy, each with its own capital, fleet and guardians. Trade with them, court them with gifts and take on their quests. Win enough

favour and you become their Patron. Or march on their capital and take it by force. A rival who wins them over first will not wait for you.

Every decision matters

• Build fleets around your own designs, from cheap missile screens to heavily armoured capital ships.

• Explore a procedurally generated galaxy where terrain, hidden routes and hostile encounters change every game.

• Push into the deep galaxy, where the richest worlds lie. They are also the most dangerous to reach, and the guardians there are not always asleep.

• Plan simultaneously with your opponent, then watch both strategies unfold at once.

• Use fog of war, terrain, stealth and ambush to hide your intentions and catch enemy fleets off guard.

• Every battle is a tactical puzzle. Weapon matchups, defence dice, terrain and fleet composition all matter, and veteran ships earn the right to command.

• Play against AI opponents across four difficulty levels, or challenge friends online in skirmishes of up to eight players.
