Plan your day, begin building your team, and decide who handles what. Clear emails to the beat and solve circuit puzzles yourself while keeping an eye on the workload. Being in charge hasn't made your to-do list any shorter.

MAKE THE COFFEE COUNT

Draw coffee cards and choose who gets each brew. Different drinks affect work speed, stress, and recovery. Decide whether your team or your own workload needs the help most. Your first important management decision may involve a double shot.

ANSWER TO THE CEO

Handle urgent demands and face the CEO's weekly questions. Choose honest answers or corporate spin, with consequences for money, stress, and sanity. Apparently, “everything” is an acceptable list of priorities.

KEEP YOUR SANITY. YOU NEED IT FOR WORK.

Watch your sanity as the pressure builds. Lower sanity means tighter timing windows and less time for repairs, while the office grows increasingly unsettling. Try to reach the end of your first 14 days with the work, and yourself, still in one piece.
