Orbisphere is a cozy idle-arcade game about a small astronaut named Orbi, with a big job: collect stardust to wake a sleeping station and find your way home.

About this demo

The demo is the complete first zone of Orbisphere (~3 hours active gameplay). Launch from your station, collect stardust and build your first idle economy. Wormholes and everything past the asteroid belt are waiting in the full game.

Ride the orbit - the active loop

Drift through space, using your jetpack to speed up. Orbi can't change directions with his jetpack. Instead, utilise the gravitational pull of planets to change directions and slingshot your way through space. Collect stardust as you go and return to your station to upgrade your equipment. 

Feed the machines - the idle loop

Stardust feeds machine. Machines feed upgrades. Use the lab, 3D printer, solar wings and drone dock. Then let your OrbiBot collect stardust while you're afk. 

Upgrades let Orbi reach further into space in hopes of finding his way home.

Automate the economy

OrbiBot travels through space in real-time, collecting stardust to feed the idle machines.

Risk & Reward

Stardust is plentiful in the asteroid belt, but so are the hazards. What you gather only counts once you carry it home.

I built Orbisphere as a solo developer using AI tools under human direction. The soundtrack was created with generative AI music tools, with each track directed, selected, and edited by me. In-game vector artwork was authored with AI assistance from my terrible MS Paint references and designs. All game design, writing, systems, and balance are my own work.
