Commodore 64 game on your PC! DEVILS is an arcade-logic game with rpg elements created in the retro atmosphere of C64 computers. It was created using 16 colors known from Commodore 64.  The game is available in two language versions: English and Polish. As a real arcade game it ncludes high scores with two categories to compete: Fastest Time (saved at end of game) and Max Score (saved at end of each lvl). Game is speed runer frendly.

What's in the game?

This title consists of 44 levels. In the first 35, your goal is to lead devils toward a portal, strategically turning the floor into an impassable void with every step you take. As you progress, the game introduces new challenges to heighten the experience, balanced by helpful power-ups. The final 9 levels take you straight to Hell. The mission there is clear: eliminate every demon, max out your character's stats, and prepare for the ultimate showdown with the legendary Boruta.

STORY

The action takes place at LucicCastle, where the crafty devil Boruta is plotting his revenge. After being banished to the afterlife, he has sent hordes of his devilish minions to reclaim the stronghold. It is up to you to arrive at the eleventh hour, send the invaders back to hell, and protect Lucic and the world from his wrath.

I'm a beginner game developer. My dream is to create and publish a game that will give players a bit of joy. This is my first game I ever made. It's designed with 16 colors, just like on the C64. My inspiration was one of my first games I played 30 years ago on an AMIGA 600 computer and an old Polish fairy tale about the devil Boruta. I modified the game's objective (you have to lead the devils to the portal, defeat them all in the last 9 levels, kill a Boruta`s and reach the exit). I also added RPG elements – a simple plot, fighting demons, collecting items, crafting items, character development, and skills. The only things left from that game are the method of leading the devils to their destination and the simple graphics. The game has 44 levels, I'm currently learning pixel art and animation to make transition videos between important moments of the game. As I am just starting my adventure with game development, I will be grateful for any feedback. Please list at least one thing you liked and one thing you'd improve or remove.
