What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to involve players while Kagenazo is still being shaped and improved. The core puzzle gameplay is already playable, but Early Access gives us a chance to collect feedback on level difficulty, controls, pacing, clarity, performance, and the direction of future modes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Kagenazo to remain in Early Access for several months, but this may change depending on development progress, player feedback, and the amount of content and features we decide to expand during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with more content, improvements, and polish based on player feedback. Our current plans include improving and expanding Time Mode, with the goal of turning it into both a local and online multiplayer mode. We also plan to add new environment themes, refine existing levels, improve presentation, polish the user experience, and continue balancing the game.

These plans may change as development continues and as we learn more from the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the main Kagenazo gameplay: building cube structures, rotating and inspecting them, and matching their shadows from multiple directions. It includes a set of handcrafted puzzle levels, progression systems, basic settings, and the foundation of the game’s challenge and scoring structure.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not planning to use a fixed price promise at this stage. The price may be reviewed as the game grows and receives more content, features, and polish. If the scope of the game expands significantly during Early Access, we may adjust the price to reflect that.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use community feedback to help guide balancing, level difficulty, usability improvements, bug fixing, and future feature priorities. Players will be able to share feedback through Steam discussions, Discord, reviews, and playtest feedback forms.

We are especially interested in feedback about puzzle clarity, difficulty progression, controls, Time Mode, performance, and which types of levels players enjoy the most.”

About This Game

Kagenazo is a 3D shadow puzzle game built around a simple idea: a shape can look completely different depending on where the light is coming from.

Build the Right Shape

Each puzzle gives you a set of target silhouettes. Your goal is to build a cube structure that casts the correct shadows from multiple directions. Add and remove cube blocks, rotate the shape to inspect it, and compare the result against the target patterns until every shadow matches.

Think in Shadows

The rules are easy to read at a glance, but the solutions require spatial thinking. A block that fixes one face may ruin another. A shape that looks right from the front may be wrong from above.

As the puzzles grow from compact 2x2 cubes to larger 3x3 and 4x4 structures, you will need to think in layers, mentally rotate shapes, and find forms that satisfy every view at once.

Over 190 Handcrafted Puzzles

Kagenazo includes over 190 handcrafted puzzles across multiple cube sizes. Early levels introduce the logic of shadow matching step by step, while later puzzles ask for more efficient construction and sharper observation. Larger cubes add extra depth, letting you hide, reveal, and reason through internal layers as you search for the intended solution.

Improve Your Solutions

Every level tracks your performance with a star rating based on how efficiently you solve it and how quickly you finish. You can complete a puzzle through experimentation, then return later to improve your solution with fewer cubes and a better score.

Clean and Focused Puzzle Design

With clean controls, responsive cube interaction, and a quiet visual style focused on light and form, Kagenazo is designed for players who enjoy spatial puzzles, logical deduction, and the satisfaction of seeing a complex shape finally cast the exact shadows you were chasing.
