What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Last One Employed already offers a complete and enjoyable core gameplay experience, but we believe the game will benefit from community involvement before version 1.0.

During Early Access we plan to expand the game with new gameplay systems, additional item cards, a more comprehensive in-game tutorial, and a new "Meeting" mechanic that introduces new strategic interactions between players. Community feedback will also help us refine game balance, role interactions, and overall pacing as these features evolve.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Early Access to last approximately 2–4 months. The exact duration will depend on community feedback and how the planned features develop during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access we plan to continue expanding the game with additional gameplay content and systems.

Our current plans include:

• an expanded in-game tutorial and onboarding experience for new players;
• additional item cards that introduce new strategies and interactions;
• a new "Meeting" gameplay mechanic that creates new opportunities for player decisions and social deduction;
• continued balancing of roles, cards, and gameplay based on community feedback;
• interface improvements, quality-of-life updates, and additional polish.

The exact scope may evolve throughout Early Access as we gather player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is fully playable from start to finish.

It already includes:

• complete multiplayer gameplay for 3–10 players;
• 32 unique office roles with their own decks and play styles;
• the complete core turn structure;
• item cards, attacks, defenses, stress, patience, and budget systems;
• online phone controllers and host screen gameplay;
• matchmaking/lobby system and playable matches.

Please refer to the "About This Game" section for a detailed overview of the currently available gameplay features.

Some planned gameplay systems, additional cards, tutorial improvements, and other content are still under development and will be added during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to increase the price after leaving Early Access. If our plans change due to a significant expansion of the game's content, we will communicate that clearly in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access.

We will actively monitor Steam discussions, reviews, and bug reports to identify balance issues, usability problems, and opportunities for improvement.

Player feedback will directly influence balancing, tutorial improvements, additional item cards, the Meeting mechanic, and future gameplay refinements. We will regularly communicate development progress through Steam announcements and update notes.”

About This Game

Last One Employed is a competitive party card game for 3–10 players about surviving a tech company where deadlines, production incidents, and your coworkers are equally dangerous.

Choose one of 32 office roles—from Project Manager, System Administrator, and QA Lead to HR, DevOps, a remote freelancer, or a gloriously unstable founder. Every role has its own deck, play style, attacks, defenses, and ways to recover.

Stay on the payroll

Everyone starts with Patience, Stress, and Budget. Lose Patience, gain Stress, steal Budget, buy office perks, and redirect blame. When your Stress catches up with your Patience, you are fired. The last employee standing wins.

Every turn is corporate chaos

• Optimize your hand: discard and draw back to seven cards.
• Play an action against a coworker—or save yourself.
• Delegate a hidden task into somebody else's Inbox.
• Resolve your own Inbox and hope it does not trigger a chain of problems.
• Answer attacks with blocks, counterattacks, and redirects.

Production incidents hit the whole table, office perks are limited, and no plan survives contact with HR. Even fired players stay involved by voting against those still employed.

One screen. Everyone's phones.

Run the game on a Windows, macOS, or Linux computer and put it on a shared screen. Other players join from their phones through a browser using the QR code. No mobile app or extra controllers are required.

Key features

• Competitive matches for 3–10 players
• 32 distinct roles with personal card decks
• Hundreds of localized cards, tasks, and incidents
• Phones as controllers through a browser
• 17 interface and card-text languages
• Fired players still influence the match

Sabotage your coworkers. Survive your inbox. Be the last one employed.
