Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Zombie Tag is built around fast multiplayer chases, movement, player interactions, and unpredictable situations. These systems are difficult to balance properly without seeing how real players use them.

Early Access allows us to develop the game together with the community. Player feedback will help us improve movement, parkour routes, infection balance, round pacing, items, map design, and overall multiplayer stability.

We would rather test and refine these systems with players during development than make assumptions and discover major problems after the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Zombie Tag to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months.

This estimate may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the amount of balancing and technical work required. Our priority is to release the full version when the game feels stable, polished, and enjoyable rather than rushing to meet a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand and improve Zombie Tag throughout Early Access based on community feedback.

Planned areas of development include additional maps and parkour routes, more environmental hazards, new usable items, improved character movement and animations, additional customization options, better matchmaking and lobby features, and further improvements to performance and network stability.

We also plan to continue balancing zombie abilities, human survival options, infection speed, round duration, boxing gloves, bear traps, and other gameplay systems.

These plans may change during development as we learn which features and improvements are most valuable to players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Zombie Tag is playable and includes its complete core gameplay loop. Early Access will focus on improving, balancing, and expanding the experience rather than building the game from scratch.

The current version includes:

Online multiplayer matches
One randomly selected zombie at the beginning of each round
A 10-second head start for human players
An infection system that turns captured humans into zombies
Round-based matches with separate objectives for humans and zombies
Running, jumping, climbing, and parkour movement
A construction-site map with platforms, obstacles, narrow paths, and risky escape routes
Boxing gloves that can push and knock down zombies or other humans
Bear traps that can stun players and interrupt chases
Increasing difficulty as the zombie team grows during the round
Victory conditions for both surviving humans and the zombie team
31 languages

The game is fully playable, but players may still encounter rough edges, balance issues, animation problems, network issues, and occasional bugs. Early Access will help us identify and improve problems that are difficult to find through internal testing alone.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep the price of Zombie Tag the same when the game leaves Early Access.

This plan may be reconsidered if the scope of the game changes significantly during development, but we do not currently intend to increase the price for the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of Zombie Tag’s development.

We plan to use the Steam Community Hub to collect bug reports, gameplay suggestions, balance feedback, and technical reports. We are especially interested in feedback about movement, parkour routes, zombie and human balance, round duration, map readability, item interactions, and multiplayer performance.

We will review discussions and reports regularly and use them to help prioritize updates. Not every suggestion will be added, but community feedback will directly influence which systems need the most attention and which parts of the game should be expanded or redesigned.”

About This Game

Zombie Tag is a fast-paced multiplayer party game that turns classic tag into a chaotic zombie chase.

At the start of each round, one player becomes the zombie. The zombie is frozen for 10 seconds while the humans run, climb, and search for the best escape routes across a dangerous construction site. When the countdown ends, the hunt begins.

The zombie attacks humans to infect them and turn them into zombies. Every player who gets caught joins the zombie team and starts chasing the remaining survivors. The humans must run, parkour and survive until the timer runs out.

The construction site is filled with platforms, narrow paths, obstacles, and risky parkour routes. Humans can use the environment to escape, but running is not always enough.

Players can also use boxing gloves to push zombies or other humans and knock them down. Bear traps can stun opponents, change the flow of the chase, and create unexpected moments of chaos.

Each round becomes more intense as the zombie team grows. What starts as one zombie quickly becomes a dangerous horde. By the end, every player is either running for their life or hunting the last survivors.

Features:

  • Fast-paced multiplayer zombie tag gameplay

  • One player starts as the zombie while others try to survive
