About This Game

You are a fading ember, descending a collapsing tower. Fight through shadow creatures, combine evolving weapons and passives, and survive long enough to face the Umbral Heart. Death ends your run, but Skill Points, hero unlocks, and Forge upgrades carry into the next descent.

Build a run that is yours

• 10 heroes with distinct abilities and skill paths, including the blight-wielding Apothecary and armored Runesmith.
• 23 weapons and 46 evolution branches. Max a weapon, pair it with the right passive, and choose its evolved form. Combine lightning, meteors, orbiting blades, poison clouds, runes, and more.
• 13 passives and 16 relics reshape your build. Fill the Overcharge meter with kills to unleash a nova.
• Choose your route on a branching map and spend shards at post-boss Supply Caches.

Go beyond the final boss

Descend through six tower regions and defeat the Umbral Heart at depth 30. Then enter repeating Endless expeditions through the Foundry, Starfall Reach, Briar Cathedral, and Sunken Archive. Four guardians bring new attack patterns, regional enemies, and hazards as the challenge grows.

Make every descent different

• Room twists bring swarms, titans, elite patrols, frenzied enemies, and Gold Rush rewards.
• Affixed elites demand different tactics: Shielded, Volatile, Vampiric, Frostbound, and Summoner.
• 12 optional Trials add run curses with stacking reward multipliers.
• Six difficulty tiers offer a progression from Normal to Ascended.

Keep something from every run

• Complete a 78-contract Challenge Board and pursue 39 achievements.
• Spend banked shards on eight ranked Ember Forge upgrades, including level-up rerolls.
• Take on the seeded Daily Descent with a featured hero, daily and weekly leaderboards, and streak rewards.
• Review your build and results in the run report.

Descend together

Host an online co-op room, share its code, and fight a shared horde. Each player builds their own hero, and surviving teammates can revive fallen allies.

Choose your controls

Play with mouse and keyboard or a gamepad. Controller support includes analog movement, dash and ability buttons, and a virtual cursor for menus.
