About This Game

Brew. React. Catalyze.

You are an apprentice witch with a cauldron, a shelf, and a curse to break. Each Hex sets a potency target. Draw a hand of reagents — Ember, Frost, Toxin, Bloom, Arcane — pick up to five, and BREW. The cauldron reads your selection as a reaction (a Reaction, a Twin Reaction, a Resonance, a Witches' Pact, a Grand Elixir…), your catalysts bend the numbers, and a gold potency number erupts out of the steam and counts up. Beat the target and the Hex breaks. Miss it four times and the cauldron runs cold.

Stack catalysts. Chain reactions.

Between Hexes you visit the Apothecary. Catalysts sit on your shelf for the rest of the run and fire on every matching brew: +chips for Embers, ×mult for a single-element brew, retriggers, mirrors, moons that grow each brew. Five slots. One hundred and sixty-seven catalysts. Stack a few that work together and the numbers get… silly. That's the whole game.

The cauldron never lies.

Every draw is a fair shuffle and the odds are printed on the page: if one Glacier Heart is left in a fourteen-card deck, the Grimoire shows you 1-in-14. Scrying bowls, seeks and filters bend the deck out in the open. No hidden RNG, no rubber-banding, no microtransactions. An earned win is the only kind here.

Fifty forbidden recipes.

Brew the right thing and a page writes itself into your Grimoire — a woodcut, a line of lore, and a small lasting boon. There are fifty. Nobody will tell you what they are.

Six covens. Twenty Hex Levels. One daily cauldron.

Each coven starts with a different pot, a signature catalyst and a knack of its own. Clear Act III and the Hex Levels open — twenty rungs of ascending cruelty. The Daily Brew hands the whole world the same seed, once a day, with a leaderboard. Endless mode keeps raising the target ×1.6 per Hex until only a compounding engine survives.

Hex Bosses

Witchfinder takes a brew away. Ashsnuffer zeroes your Embers. Glutton King halves anything under five reagents. The Hush hides the preview. Read the curse, brew around it.

Made to be played by everyone

Reduce Motion, Reduce Flashing, three colour-blind modes plus pattern overlays, UI text scaling, full keyboard and controller play, and ten languages.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

I am a professional artist who lost the majority of my vision many years ago. Now legally blind, I use AI to generate base images and I create what I call "Hybrid Art", in which I combine my own art and skills with the generations to still create art that I love. This technique has been used in Hex & Tonic for card art, store page art, etc. I hope it brings you as much joy as I got creating for you.
