What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to create a truly high-quality game, and to achieve that, we need the help of the gaming community. Early Access allows us to develop the project based on real player feedback, polish existing mechanics, and gradually introduce new ideas while maintaining perfect balance.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for the game to remain in Early Access for approximately one year. This timeframe will allow us to test all core systems, expand the world, and implement planned features at a comfortable development pace.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, we plan to significantly expand the opportunities for open-world exploration.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Enemy AI: The mutant's AI is fully functional. The creature reacts to noise, patrols the territory, and aggressively pursues the player. At this stage, only a single specimen is present on the map to allow for thorough balancing and fine-tuning of the stealth mechanics.

Graphics and Atmosphere: A photorealistic environment, deep volumetric lighting, and a smooth day-night cycle have been set up. The contrast between safe exploration during the day and tense survival at night is already fully functional and directly impacts gameplay.

Combat System: Basic weapon mechanics are implemented, including shooting and melee combos.

Location: A foundational part of the island is available for exploration, including your starting off-grid home and the surrounding areas featuring the first hidden secrets.

The game runs stably; however, content—such as the size of the playable map, the number and types of enemies, and additional survival elements—will be gradually added and expanded throughout the Early Access period.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game may be moderately increased as major content, new gameplay mechanics, and expanded sandbox features are added closer to the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will carefully gather opinions and bug reports on the official Steam forum. Player feedback will be the main guide for our regular updates and will help determine which mechanics and building elements should be developed first.”

About This Game

A Paradise Turned Death Trap You are a wealthy individual who purchased a remote island at an unbelievably low price. Your plan was perfect: a fully off-grid home with wind turbines and solar panels, far from civilization. It was supposed to be a peaceful life surrounded by nature. But you had no idea who the previous owners of this land were.

The Medovox Legacy The island harbors a terrifying secret. Years ago, it belonged to Medovox, an illegal shadow corporation that conducted inhumane genetic experiments on animals and humans. When funding ran dry, management ordered the extermination of all test subjects and the immediate shutdown of the facility. But the purge failed. A few specimens managed to break free and vanish into the woods.

The corporation abandoned the island, assuming the mutants were doomed to die. They were wrong. The creatures survived, adapted, and bred. Now, this is their territory—and you are an uninvited guest.

Key Features:

  • The Illusion of Isolation & Cunning Predators You will never know for sure how many of them lurk in the dark. At first, the creatures will appear one by one, and you might even believe there is only a single monster on the island. This is a fatal misconception—you will soon realize there are far more of them than it seems. Due to their mutations, they have poor eyesight, but their hearing is sharpened to the extreme. At first glance, they appear slow and clumsy; however, the moment they hear you and pinpoint your location, they turn into relentless, aggressive pursuers. Losing them in the dense forest will be incredibly difficult.

  • Day and Night Contrast The game features a stunningly realistic day-night cycle and a breathtaking volumetric cloud system. By day, the island is mesmerizing: you can relatively safely explore the mountains and abandoned laboratories while taking in the scenery. But as soon as the sun sets, primal horror begins. At night, the mutants come out to hunt.

  • Photorealistic Horror Immerse yourself in a terrifying atmosphere with next-gen graphics. Cinematic lighting, thick fog, and realistic shadows create an unparalleled sense of presence. The environment is detailed down to the smallest elements. (In development: a realistic dynamic weather system).

  • Sound as a Survival Tool Since your enemies hunt by sound, you will have to rely on your hearing as well. The howling wind, an unnatural wheeze in the dark, or the snap of a dry branch—every sound is positioned with pinpoint accuracy. Play with headphones to hear the danger coming and avoid drawing unwanted attention.

Early Access and Project Development Medovox is currently in active development. We plan to release the project into Early Access (Alpha version) very soon. Our main goal is to let you experience the game as early as possible, using your feedback to quickly find and fix bugs, and bringing the project to a full release together.

At the launch of Early Access, content will be limited: not all locations and mechanics will be available for exploration, and you may face only a single mutant specimen on the island. This is just the beginning of the journey, and the game world will constantly expand.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains scenes of violence and blood typical of the action-shooter and survival horror genres. The player uses firearms and melee combat to defend against hostile mutated creatures. Taking damage and shooting enemies results in realistic blood effects.

The game features a highly tense, frightening atmosphere with elements of psychological horror, survival in the dark, and sudden attacks (jumpscares) that may frighten sensitive players.

The game completely lacks sexual content, violence against humans, drug use, self-harm, and extreme unprovoked violence.
