Why Early Access?

“S.A.M. is an observation horror game where you monitor CCTV feeds and a terminal OS at the same time, hunting for subtle anomalies and reporting them. How fun — and how frightening — this kind of surveillance play feels depends heavily on real players: what they miss, what feels too easy or too hard, and which anomalies genuinely unsettle them. Early Access lets us tune the detection difficulty, pacing, fairness, and scare design of these anomalies against real play data, and expand the surveillance areas, anomalies, and the presences that appear based on community response. At the same time, we want to catch stability issues and bugs across a range of setups to raise the quality of the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning on under roughly 1-3 months. That said, this timeframe may be adjusted depending on community feedback and how stabilization progresses.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to broaden the range of surveillance areas (stages), anomalies, and the presences that appear. We also plan to increase the variety of both CCTV and terminal-OS anomalies, and to refine per-camera visual treatments (such as black-and-white and night vision) along with the overall horror direction and quality-of-life features. We aren't locking in a specific schedule or promising that any particular piece of content will be added — we intend to adjust our direction based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core experience is already fully playable. The main loop — switching between the CCTV feeds and the terminal OS, spotting the differences between the normal and anomalous states, and reporting them — is in place, along with the failure conditions tied to the normalcy meter and the anomalies and presences that appear to frighten you. One completed surveillance area (stage) is currently playable; clearing it in a single run takes about 14 minutes, but because anomalies occur with a degree of randomness, actual play time varies from run to run. The game supports 11 languages, and some visual presentation and quality-of-life elements are still being refined.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, the game is offered at a lower price than its full-release price. We plan to raise the price at full release. (We may run a separate limited-time discount to mark the full launch.)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to communicate primarily through the discussions and the announcement/update notes on the Steam Community Hub. We'll gather player feedback and bug reports — especially opinions on the detection difficulty, scares, and fairness of the anomalies — and fold them into our updates.”

［ Now Hiring: Night Observation Temp ］

We are an asset management company overseeing a number of facilities. We are currently hiring night-shift personnel for the position below.

◆ Position

Night Observation Temp · Contract · Solo shift, no rotation

◆ Duties

  • Monitor the several CCTV feeds assigned to you.

  • The moment you notice anything "different from usual," report it at once, per protocol.

  • Also keep an eye on the state of your monitoring terminal. It occasionally malfunctions on its own, but there is no need to worry — we issue the tools to set it right.

  • Shifts begin at night and end at dawn. Make it safely through your hours and the day's work is done.

◆ Requirements

  • Able to keep your eyes on the screens for long stretches

  • A sharp eye that misses no small change

  • Able to stay calm no matter what you see

  • Not the type to wonder about the previous worker

  • Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement regarding anything witnessed on shift

◆ Please Note

  • Even if something on the screen looks back at you, do not leave your post.

  • Not everything the terminal shows you is true. Even so, the work must continue.

  • If someone calls your name during your shift, do not turn around. Our staff do not speak to observers on duty.

  • If the time shown on screen differs from your own watch, always take the screen as correct.

  • Repeatedly missing or misfiling reports will be handled accordingly.

  • Diligence and performance are logged at all times and reflected in contract renewal.

◆ Benefits

  • New hires are provided orientation training to help you settle into the role.

  • Meals and snacks on shift are entirely up to you — bring whatever you like and eat while you work.

  • You may listen to music on shift. The terminal we issue comes with a Music app stocked with tracks to play while you work. That said, it may disturb other staff, so headphones or earphones are strongly recommended.

  • When your shift ends, we take it upon ourselves to see you safely home. We will never leave you alone on the way back.

  • Should any harm come to an observer through an on-shift incident, we will restore you at no cost, up to the prescribed number of times. We cherish those who will stay with us for the long term, so anyone who applies themselves has little to fear.
