What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Deck Forge is a deep, systems-driven roguelike deck builder, and that depth — four classes, a ten-level Ascension difficulty ladder, and hundreds of cards, relics, and enemies — can only be truly balanced and improved upon with feedback from real players. Early Access lets us refine difficulty and card balance, improve run pacing, and expand the game's content alongside the community that's actually playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Deck Forge to remain in Early Access for several months. This estimate may shift as we respond to player feedback — our goal is to leave Early Access once the game is well-balanced, polished, and content-complete, rather than to meet a fixed deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build is already a complete, playable experience, with four classes and full runs from the first encounter to the final boss. For the full release, we plan to refine card and class balance, broaden the pool of cards, relics, and enemies, add further polish and quality-of-life improvements, and fold in the feedback gathered during Early Access. I see the 1.0 version as a deeper, more refined evolution of what's playable today.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Deck Forge is feature-complete and playable from start to finish. It includes four distinct classes, procedurally generated runs across multiple acts, a 1–10 Ascension difficulty system, hundreds of cards and relics, challenging boss fights, Steam achievements and community stats, and full localization in multiple languages. The primary focus for Early Access is balance and polish — some cards and classes are currently stronger than others, and we'll be tuning difficulty and pacing based on how the community plays.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price as Deck Forge expands with new content and features over the course of Early Access. Buying during Early Access will be the most affordable way to play the game and to support its development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback sits at the heart of our development process. I'll be active on the Steam Community Hub and discussion forums to gather feedback, bug reports, and suggestions, and I'll combine that input with the in-game balance and play-pattern data we collect to prioritize fixes, tuning, and new content. Players who join during Early Access will have a direct hand in shaping how Deck Forge grows.”

About This Game

Forge your deck. Carve your path.
Deck Forge is a single-player roguelike deckbuilder set in a hand-painted dark-fantasy world. Start with a humble starter deck, draft new cards after every fight, bolt on game-changing relics, and venture through a world that never plays out the same way twice. Lose, learn, and forge a sharper deck on the next run.
Four classes, four ways to kill
• Warrior — A scrappy fighter of might and steel. Strikes hard, blocks harder, and stacks Strength to land devastating blows.
• Plague Doctor — Patient and methodical. Stacks Poison that ticks at end of turn and bleeds straight through Block.
• Warlock — Binds a Succubus to his will, a demoness who strikes anew each turn. Empower her, feed on souls, and let her tear the enemy apart.
• Sorceress — Channels arcane Orbs — Storm, Frost, Shadow, and Aether — that surge each turn. Stack Focus to amplify them, then unleash.
Build something dangerous
• 500+ cards across the four classes — attacks, skills, powers, curses, and class-defining mechanics.
• Relics that rewrite the rules — passive engines, build enablers, and signature relics unique to each class.
• Potions for the moment that would otherwise end your run.
• Upgrade at rest sites, thin your deck at the shop, and gamble on mysterious events.
Brave the trail
Three distinct acts — the Black Forest, the Caves below, and the seething Beehive — each with its own enemies, hazards, and a rotating cast of bosses, so the gauntlet keeps surprising you. Branching maps mean every choice between fight, shop, rest, treasure, and the unknown is a gamble with the run on the line.
Ten levels deeper
Beaten the gauntlet? Ascension mode layers ten escalating modifiers — tougher elites, leaner gold, nastier bosses, and a starting curse — for players who want the journey to bite back.
Features
• Four fully distinct classes, each with its own cards, mechanics, and signature relic.
• Hundreds of cards, relics, and potions to discover and combine.
• Three themed acts with rotating bosses and dangerous elites.
• Ascension 1–10 for escalating challenge.
• Full controller support, built with Steam Deck in mind.
• An original dark-fantasy orchestral soundtrack.
A note on Early Access
Deck Forge is in Early Access. The full loop is here and playable end to end — four classes, three acts, hundreds of cards, ascension. Early Access is about tuning the journey with your feedback: balancing card and class power, sharpening encounters, and adding more content on top of a solid foundation.
