What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Stick Wars: The Laneborn is being released in Early Access to gather community feedback while the game continues to evolve. Core gameplay is already playable, but player feedback is essential to refine game balance, improve the user experience, and help shape future content. We want to build the best possible strategy game together with our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Stick Wars: The Laneborn to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. The exact duration will depend on community feedback and the time needed to polish the game and expand its content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We intend for the full version to include additional units, civilizations, maps, gameplay mechanics, improved AI, expanded progression systems, visual improvements, quality-of-life features, and further optimization. The overall goal is to expand the strategic depth of the game while continuing to improve balance and stability based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version offers the core gameplay experience with fully playable matches and the main strategic mechanics already implemented. While the game is enjoyable and stable, some content is still under development, and players may encounter balancing issues, missing features, placeholder assets, or occasional bugs. Regular updates will focus on improving stability, expanding content, and refining the overall experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may increase the price as development progresses and additional content, features, and improvements are added. Players who join during Early Access will be able to support the game's development from an earlier stage while enjoying access to all updates released throughout the Early Access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is an important part of our development process. We encourage players to share their suggestions, report bugs, and provide balance feedback through the Steam Community Hub and other official communication channels. Player feedback will help us prioritize improvements, refine gameplay mechanics, and shape future updates throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

Stick Wars: The Laneborn is a real-time 2D strategy game where macro calls win matches, not frantic unit babysitting.

Three lanes — TOP, MID, and BOT — clash in parallel. Minions, towers, and enemy waves push automatically; you build numbers, break defenses, and march on the enemy base. Destroy their base to win. Lose yours and it’s over.

Strategy, not spam

Gold is tight — every coin needs a plan.

  • Upgrade towers (more arrows, more durability) to hold lanes

  • Upgrade your base (more HP, higher passive income, faster spawn cooldowns)

  • Deploy Soldiers, Archers, and Commanders on the right lane, respecting costs and cooldowns

  • Roll out Catapults for siege: they only hit structures — push them forward before the enemy responds

Matches are decided before the armies collide.

unlocked as you advance

The campaign teaches new tools level by level:

LevelNew ally

1

Warlock — He raises Wraiths, harvests ghosts from the fallen, and turns them into Skeleton Warriors and Archers.

2+

Minotaur — melee fury, retreat, scaling abilities

3+

Hero Archer — ranged DPS and smart kiting

Every champion has levels, XP, and unlockable abilities mid-match. Respawn timers, cooldowns, and gold costs — timing is everything.

As you level up, you will unlock numerous champions, and you can choose five of them to take into battle in each match.

Enemy bosses — difficulty scales with you

Each campaign level adds threats:

  • Minotaur — melee boss with Blood Roar, Maze Master charge, Sharp Horns reflect, and area Fury

  • Hero Archer (Lv. 2) — devastating arrows, regeneration, multi-shot

  • Paladin (Lv. 3) — tank with Aura and Final Verdict

They rotate lanes intelligently, level up, and grow more dangerous as the battle heats up.

Campaign, progression & tutorial

  • 5 campaign levels with waves, compositions, and music that shifts (opening → mid-fight → climax)

  • Save slots with profiles, unlocked levels, and persistent progress

  • Built-in tutorial with animated pages for every unit, structure, and ability

  • UI in English and Italian

Key features

  • 2D lane-push strategy inspired by MOBAs, in a hyper-stylized stickman look

  • 3 lanes with towers, auto-spawning minions, and enemy waves

  • Playable summoner champion with Wraiths, ghost harvesting, and lane rotation

  • Up to 5 ally champions and 6 enemy bosses with AI and progressive abilities

  • Siege units (Catapults), gold economy, spawning, upgrades, and in-match leveling

  • Single player vs AI

  • Camera controls: pan, zoom, minimap

Playtest / Demo

This is an early version: the current campaign covers the first 3 levels of a planned 10-level run. Feedback on balance, UI clarity, and fun is welcome — your input shapes the full release.
