About This Game

Quick, lethal samurai duels

Blood Moon Duel is a pixel-art dueling game about fast, tense fights between deadly warriors.

The game is inspired by feudal Japan, samurai films, old anime sword fights, and that specific feeling of two fighters staring each other down before everything goes wrong in a second.

Most fights are short. Attacks are dangerous. Getting careless can cost you the whole duel.

A darker world beneath the Blood Moon

Blood Moon Duel is not trying to be a realistic historical samurai game.

The world is inspired by feudal Japan, but it leans into dark fantasy. You will see samurai, ronin, assassins, warlords, wanderers, demons, beasts, cursed warriors, and fighters who clearly stopped being normal a long time ago.

The goal is simple: sharp blades, strange fighters, tense duels, and a darker world built around the Blood Moon.

Simple controls, harsh mistakes

Blood Moon Duel is easy to understand, but getting good at it takes practice.

You have light attacks, heavy attacks, parries, dodges, blocks, and sword clashes. None of it is meant to be complicated on paper, but using the right move at the right time is what matters.

Button mashing will get you killed. Reading distance, waiting for the right moment, and learning your opponent is how you survive.

Blood Moon Trials

Blood Moon Trials is the roguelite challenge side of the game.

Enter a trial, survive a chain of duels, choose temporary boosts, and push toward boss fights. Some choices make you stronger. Some make the run riskier. Some are just there to tempt you into doing something stupid.

Between runs, Blood Tokens can be spent on Trial Upgrades. These upgrades only apply inside Blood Moon challenge modes, so regular duels stay clean while the Blood Moon modes get their own progression, builds, and replayability.

Game modes

  • Duel Mode- Fight against an AI opponent or another player in local Player vs Player duels.

  • Story Mode - Short character interactions between the main cast.

  • Infinite Challenge - Defeat as many opponents as you can with one life.

  • Practice Mode - Learn the basics, test characters, and improve your timing.

  • Blood Moon Trials - Roguelite challenge runs with temporary boosts, boss fights, Blood Tokens, and Trial Upgrades.

  • Blood Moon Infinite- An endless Blood Moon challenge where you push as far as you can.

Short story moments, not walls of text

Blood Moon Duel includes a light Story Mode where the 10 main characters interact with each other.

The story is told through short scenes, bits of dialogue, and character moments rather than long story chapters. It is there to give the fighters some personality, history, and conflict without slowing the game down too much.

Unlock new fighters

Playing the game and earning achievements can unlock additional fighters.

Some unlockable characters are grounded warriors with different weapons or styles. Others go further into the dark fantasy side of the game, with stranger weapons, mystical powers, or transformed forms.

Readable fights and fair deaths

Blood Moon Duel is built around clear feedback.

Hits, parries, clashes, dodges, blocks, and mistakes should be easy to read. When you lose, the goal is not to make you wonder what happened. The goal is to make you think, “Yeah, I deserved that,” and then immediately want another duel.

Every loss should teach you something.

Every victory should feel earned.
