About This Game

FORGERY is a dark medieval roguelike about counterfeiting coins! You were the King's coin maker, until you found out he was faking the realm's silver himself. He blamed you for it and sent you to the rope. You got away. Time to pay him back in his own coin.

Forge the sheet!

Pick a metal and hammer the hot ingot flat at the anvil. Time your strikes well and you get a better sheet, and a better sheet mints richer coins.

Punch the coins!

Click the sheet to punch coins out of it. Land on the pure veins for bonus value, stay away from the cracks, and keep your punches close together to build a combo chain. The number next to your cursor always shows what your next punch is worth, so you always know what you're getting into. Your stamp dies fire with every punch, and the right set of dies can multiply a batch into something ridiculous.

Sell to shady buyers

Every round starts with a contract. Some buyers reject flawed coins, some pay extra for speed or nerve, and one or two of them will believe anything shiny is real gold. Risky contracts pay more. Don't like the offers? Pay the Fence to deal new ones.

Don't get caught!

Every coin you press raises your Heat. Fill the bar and the run is over. Tear wanted posters off the road to cool down, and think twice before skimming money off a job. The law remembers.

Travel north

Between acts you travel a branching world map, nine cities from the Gutter all the way to Castle City. The roads are lined with upgrades, so the path you pick becomes the build you play. A boss from the Law guards every city gate, and each one changes the rules of the whole round. There's also a road going down, if you'd rather trade with the dead.
