About This Game

SVISTOPLYASKA is a story-driven first-person horror game set in a dark fantasy world. A playthrough takes around 30 minutes. It is a short story that can be experienced in one sitting.

The Story

The protagonist finds himself in a snow-covered forest on a winter night. Fog hangs between dense spruce trees, obscuring what lies beyond them. As he moves through the forest, the events around him become increasingly intertwined with his memories.

Visions, story scenes and environmental details gradually reveal events from the past. Memories become part of the present, changing the way familiar things are perceived. At the heart of the game is the protagonist’s story and its connection to what is happening in the forest.

Sound is as much a part of the forest as its scenery: wind moves through the trees, snow crunches underfoot, and the protagonist’s breathing fills the quiet moments. These sounds accompany the journey through the darkness, adding to the sense of cold and isolation.

Playtime

The game takes around half an hour to complete, allowing you to experience the story from beginning to end in a single session. It is suited to an evening when you want to explore a short horror game and reach its conclusion.

Visual Style

Low-poly models, rough textures and angular silhouettes draw on the look of original PlayStation games. The winter forest uses a cold, dark palette, while fog and dim lighting limit visibility. Retro visuals, winter scenery and sound create the dark fantasy atmosphere in which the protagonist’s story unfolds.

The further you go, the harder it becomes to tell whether the forest is leading you toward the truth — or deeper into madness.
