It is a psychological horror survival game with a millennium-era Chinese dreamcore aesthetic. You play as a night guard in an old residential compound, defending against the "unspeakable things" that wander the late-night hours—all while staring at a flickering, snow-filled monitor.

About This Game

"Come to work. The rules are simple: stare at the monitors, and before dawn, don’t let 'those things' wandering around at night get into the security booth..."

In the sweltering summer of 2002, you take on a night shift security job at Sunshine Residential Compound. A cramped, dilapidated guardhouse, a CRT monitor flickering with heavy snow static, nine surveillance cameras riddled with blind spots, and a wooden fish and a few yellowed talismans left on the desk by someone unknown. As night deepens, the world outside begins to feel very wrong.

Midnight Watch takes you back to an old, rundown Chinese residential compound in the early 2000s, immersing you in a spiral of rising psychological dread within a claustrophobic space.

【Core Gameplay: Hold the Line at the Brink of Collapse】

This is not a game where you can run away. You are nailed to the surveillance desk, and your only weapon is your sanity (Panic Value).

- Multi-threaded Defense: A massive, light-seeking creature pounds on the right door, while an extremely agile, malformed little ghost giggles outside the left window. You must constantly watch the monitors to anticipate their movement paths.

- Extreme Resource Management: Turning off lights to repel monsters or cramming yourself into a cramped iron cabinet for shelter will cause your Panic Value to skyrocket. When it hits 100%, you will completely break down and die.

- Calming and Survival: Strike the wooden fish on the desk to steady your heartbeat—but doing so when a monster is right in your face is like tolling your own death knell. When you're out of options, light your last remaining talisman with trembling hands to buy a moment's peace.

【Audiovisual Degradation: Seeing Isn't Always Believing】

As your Panic Value rises, your senses begin to distort. The normal white noise of the monitors gives way to piercing tinnitus; the edges of your vision seep with flesh-like textures; ordinary objects undergo eerie mutations. In a state of extreme delirium, how do you distinguish reality from illusion and make the right defensive decisions?

【Fragmented Narration: The Cruel Truth Beneath】

Each night before it begins, the day's Morning Light Metropolitan Evening News appears on the desk. Hidden among trivial, mundane headlines about community mosquito control, missing person notices, and municipal construction are deeply unsettling truths. What are those things outside? And who—really—are you?

Tonight is also peaceful in Sunshine Compound.

3. Key Features

- Authentic 2000s Chinese Retro Aesthetics: A grimy, lo-fi rendering style and the curved scanlines of a bulky CRT monitor capture the unique, oppressive atmosphere of an early-2000s Chinese residential compound.

- Deep Psychological Horror Experience: Rejecting cheap jump scares, the game uses a Panic Value system to drive dynamic visual and auditory pollution, simulating the process of a genuine mental breakdown.

- Localized Chinese Horror Mechanics: Unique, culturally specific survival mechanics like "striking the wooden fish to lower stress" and "blind-field QTE for burning talismans" make every action carry immense risk.

- Unsettling Layered Narration: What appears to be a ghost-survival game on the surface gradually reveals a tragic reality through old newspapers and subtle, discordant details.
