Why Early Access?

“The Legend of Loch Ness enters Early Access with all core gameplay systems already in place, including exploration, boating, and underwater investigation.

We chose Early Access to involve the community in the game's development. Player feedback will help shape future updates as we expand the world with new areas to explore, additional features, and deeper mysteries to uncover.

While the game is already fully playable, our aim is to continue growing and refining the experience to make it the ultimate Loch Ness adventure.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect The legend of Loch Ness to be in early access for around 6 months to 1 year. .We want to take the time needed to expand the game, improve existing features, and add new content with help from community feedback.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to introduce new locations to explore, additional gameplay features, more discoveries and mysteries to uncover, and ongoing improvements to performance, stability, and immersion. As development progresses, we will continue refining existing systems and expanding the world of Loch Ness to create a richer and more engaging experience.

We will share our progress through regular updates and community communication, allowing players to follow the game's development and help shape its future.

Our priority is quality rather than rushing toward a release date. Early Access will end once we feel the core vision of the game has been fully realised and the experience meets the standards we have set for a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of The Legend of Loch Ness to offer a larger and more detailed open world, featuring additional locations across Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands, along with more activities, investigations, stories, and mysteries inspired by local folklore and legends.

As development progresses, we intend to expand the variety of gameplay options available to players. Depending on their preferred playstyle, players may choose to investigate the legend of Nessie, build a tourism or fishing business, document wildlife, uncover hidden secrets, or create their own stories around the famous mystery.

We also plan to further develop the game's exploration and simulation systems through expanded boating and underwater exploration, additional wildlife interactions, dynamic events, deeper progression mechanics, richer environmental systems, and greater world detail throughout the Highlands.

While the Early Access version provides the core gameplay experience, our goal for the full version is to deliver a deeper, more immersive world with more content to discover, more ways to play, and greater freedom for players to create their own adventures around Loch Ness.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Legend of Loch Ness is currently in active Early Access development, with the core gameplay experience fully playable. Players can explore the waters of Loch Ness by boat, investigate sightings and points of interest, uncover clues, and engage with the game's core exploration and progression systems. Beyond the loch itself, players can also explore the surrounding Highlands on foot or by motorcycle, discovering hidden locations, wildlife, and mysteries along the way.

The foundations of the game are already in place, including open-world exploration, investigation mechanics, boating, underwater exploration, motorcycle travel, and progression systems. Players can freely explore the world, search for evidence, interact with the environment, and experience the mystery surrounding the legend of Nessie.

While the core gameplay loop is complete and fully playable, additional content, locations, activities, stories, and gameplay systems are still being expanded and refined throughout Early Access.

Current development is focused on increasing gameplay depth and variety, improving visual quality and immersion, refining existing systems, and enhancing performance and stability across a wide range of hardware. Balancing, bug fixing, and quality-of-life improvements are also ongoing as development continues.

Community feedback plays an important role in development and helps guide future improvements as the world of Loch Ness continues to grow and evolve.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to launch The Legend of Loch Ness in Early Access at a lower price to reflect its current stage of development and to reward players who join us early in the journey.

As development continues and the game expands with new content, gameplay features, locations, and systems, we may gradually increase the price to reflect the growing scale and depth of the experience.

We expect the full release version to be priced higher than the initial Early Access version. Early supporters will receive all updates released during Early Access at no additional cost and will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the game through community feedback.

Any future pricing adjustments will be announced in advance through the Steam page and community updates.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is an important part of The Legend of Loch Ness throughout Early Access. We want players to help shape the game's development by sharing their ideas, suggestions, and experiences as the world continues to grow.

We actively monitor feedback through Steam discussions, community channels, social media, and playtesting. This helps us understand what players enjoy, which areas can be improved, and where future development efforts should be focused.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to share regular updates on development progress and encourage discussion around new features, gameplay improvements, balancing changes, and future content. Player feedback will help influence priorities and guide many of the decisions made during development.
