What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because ArcaneIdle is the kind of game that gets meaningfully better with player feedback. It's a systems-driven party idle RPG — combat, heroes, gear, runes, professions, and the roguelike Rift mode all feed into each other — and the way those systems feel and balance out is best refined together with the community actually playing it.

Releasing in Early Access lets us grow the game in the open: add content, tune the balance, and shape new features around how real players build their parties and spend their time, rather than guessing behind closed doors. Your feedback during this period will directly influence what we build and how the game evolves.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect ArcaneIdle to be in Early Access for roughly 12 to 18 months. This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline, the goal is to leave Early Access when the game feels complete and polished, and the exact timing will depend on player feedback and how development progresses.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to be a larger and more content-rich experience than what's available at the start of Early Access. Areas we plan to expand include:

- More content: additional heroes, enemies, bosses, items, runes, and areas to explore.
- Deeper progression: more build variety and long-term systems to keep parties evolving over time.
- Expanded Rift mode: more room modifiers, encounters, and risk/reward choices for the roguelike runs.
- More professions and crafting: broader gathering, fishing, and crafting options with more meaningful payoffs.
- Polish and quality of life: improved balance, UI, and overall game feel based on how the community plays.
- Broader localization and accessibility improvements.

These reflect our current intentions and priorities. As development continues and we learn from player feedback, the scope may shift, and some ideas may change or be replaced by better ones.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“ArcaneIdle is already fully playable from start to your current progression ceiling. The current version includes:

- A party-based idle combat system with heroes you recruit, equip, and grow.
- A home base (garrison) where you manage your party, heal, shop, craft, fish, and set out on runs.
- Equipment, runes, and consumables that let you customize how each hero performs.
- Professions including crafting, gathering, and fishing.
- The Rift mode: roguelike runs through linear rooms with elite enemies, per-room modifier choices, and boss fights.
- A bestiary, a tutorial/onboarding flow, and multiple language support.

The game is stable and playable, but still in active development. You should expect ongoing balance changes, additional content, and refinements over time, and you may occasionally encounter rough edges or bugs, which we'll continue to address.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we add more content and features throughout Early Access. Players who join early will get the game at its lowest price and will keep access to all future updates as part of that purchase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is central to how we want to develop ArcaneIdle. We plan to stay closely involved with players through the Steam Community forums and our other channels, and to use that feedback to guide our priorities.

Specifically, we plan to:

- Read and respond to feedback, bug reports, and suggestions from players.
- Share updates on what we're working on and what's coming next.
- Use player feedback to help shape balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and which new features and content we focus on.
- Involve the community in discussions about the direction of systems like heroes, gear, professions, and the Rift mode.

We're building this game for the people who play it, and we want their input to be a real part of how it grows.”
