Play a game of chess, building the timeline as you go. At an appropriate moment you may decide to make an incursion in the game's past, spending sand from your hourglass, to begin creating a new version of the game's history, and producing a discontinuity in time, a time rip. Take advantage of the destiny move, the original move made by your opponent to arrive at the other side of the time rip, to force a move based on previous, not current, game history. Your opponent may also be dancing about in time, playing in a more advantageous future or trying to undermine your past. A stalemate on the timeline does not end the game, merely becomes an obstacle to bypass or erase. A checkmate, anywhere in the timeline, is a victory!
