What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Tipsy Corpse is an ambitious game created by a two-person studio. By releasing it in Early Access, we can share the game with you sooner, gather your feedback, and continue refining the experience as we work toward the final release. Your support during Early Access means a lot to us and helps us bring the game to its full potential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re planning for an Early Access period of around six months. If community feedback inspires us to add more content, such as new biomes, bosses, or game modes, we’ll take the time needed to make sure it’s done right.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is already a complete experience, but several elements are still planned before the full release.

Three additional areas : the Forest, the Cave, and the Crypt will be added during Early Access. New bosses will also be added progressively. However, we do not want to commit to a definitive number of bosses, as their development may evolve depending on our ideas and player feedback.

We also plan to expand the game with new cocktails and potentially new characters, NPCs with their own stories and lore, as well as new music. The Versus mode may also evolve with new missions or variations.

Early Access will also allow us to continue improving and refining the maps, balance, progression, performance, and overall quality of life based on community feedback.

The final version will bring together this new content and all the improvements made during Early Access, resulting in the most polished version of Tipsy Corpse.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access will offer a content-rich experience from day one.

You will be able to explore 7 distinct areas:

Tipsy Corpse Bar -> starting hub
The Restaurant and its kitchens -> dungeon 1
The City -> hub 2, connecting several areas
The Park -> dungeon 2 (horizontal)
The Sewers -> dungeon 3
The Docks -> dungeon 4
The Skyscraper -> dungeon 5 (vertical)

5 bosses will be available from day one: the Chef, the Waiter, the Fisherman, the Toad, and the Drone.

The 12 weapons and 52 cocktails will also be available from the start of Early Access, along with the 3 playable characters: Jimmy, Angela, and Bruce.

The asymmetric Versus mode will also be available from the start, featuring 3 different missions.

The game will be available in English and French, with additional languages planned for later.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price is lower than the planned full-release price.
This is our way of thanking the players who choose to support us during development and help shape the game through their feedback. The price will increase when Tipsy Corpse reaches its full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Your feedback will be at the heart of our decisions. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Steam discussions, player reviews, and community suggestions to help guide our priorities, fix what needs fixing, and expand the game where you’d like to see more.”

About This Game

Tipsy Corpse: the only bar in a nowhere town, a refuge for locals who come to have a drink and cheer on the local bands. A night like any other... until the invasion.

Zombies, monsters and demonic creatures have taken over the town. Someone has to deal with it.

A twin-stick rogue-lite where your weapons, your cocktails and the environment can become your allies; as well as the friend sitting next to you who won't settle for just watching!

Earn your boss fights!

Bosses don't just appear. Clear elite rooms, defend Nexus points, and only then will you have the right to face what awaits at the end of the dungeon.

Build your run your way

Around fifty cocktails deeply modify each run: friendly fire between enemies, lunar gravity, monochrome retro mode, double jump, speed boost... and many more unpredictable effects. Find hidden ingredients in the dungeons, craft your recipes, and unlock modifiers that radically change the gameplay. A permanent upgrades vendor will let you grow stronger run after run.

Solo or local co-op

Play alone or with a friend in local co-op. Each character has a unique tactical role; turrets, mines, healing.

Flip the script

The asymmetric Versus mode lets you play both sides: one player controls the hero, the other spawns the enemies. Multiple mission types, multiple ways to win... or lose.

Detailed pixel art, metal and orchestral soundtrack.

From the bar to the sewers, from the forest to the crypt, eight biomes with radically different atmospheres, each with its own visual and musical universe.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The zombies burst into large, pixelated splashes of blood.
Some zombies spit acid.
