What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Simulacre is built around team dynamics, enemy behavior, pacing, and unpredictable player interactions.

Early Access gives us the opportunity to see how different groups respond to these systems in real matches and use that feedback to improve level pacing, difficulty, enemy behavior, replayability, multiplayer interactions, and overall technical stability.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Simulacre to remain in Early Access for approximately one to two years.

This timeframe may change depending on development progress and player feedback. We plan to leave Early Access when the game has reached the level of content, stability, variety, and polish we consider appropriate for version 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand and improve Simulacre throughout Early Access.

We plan to add additional locations, new creatures and encounters, more variation within existing levels, expanded cooperative situations, improvements to enemy behavior and gameplay systems, balance changes, optimization, accessibility improvements, and additional polish.

The exact scope may change as development continues and as we learn from player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes four fully playable locations.

Each is designed as a distinct horror scenario with its own environment and primary threat. Objectives and level structure also vary from one location to another.

Some locations follow a more linear progression, while others feature larger semi-open spaces that can be explored more freely.

A first playthrough of each location is designed to take roughly 30–50 minutes, depending on exploration, team size, player decisions, and failed attempts.

Mimics can appear throughout the game, imitating familiar voices and creating doubt within the group.

Simulacre can be played solo or online with up to four players and includes the core exploration, interaction, survival, voice communication, and cooperative systems described on the store page.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan for the price of Simulacre to increase when the game leaves Early Access.

The Early Access price will reflect the amount of content available at that stage of development, while version 1.0 is planned to include additional content, improvements, and polish.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will be an important part of Simulacre's development during Early Access.

We plan to use feedback, bug reports, community discussions, and gameplay observations to identify issues with level pacing, difficulty, enemy behavior, cooperative mechanics, replayability, and technical stability.

We are especially interested in understanding which situations create the strongest cooperation, tension, and distrust between players, and using that information to guide future improvements.”

About This Game

Simulacre is a 1–4 player co-op psychological horror about exploration, survival, and distrust.

Every location follows different rules, introduces new threats, and asks your team to find a different way forward.

And sometimes, the familiar voice calling your name does not belong to your friend.

Every Location Changes the Rules

Explore unsettling locations built around different objectives, structures, and dangers.

Some push the team forward through a more controlled path, while others open up and let you explore larger areas more freely.

Each location is designed to feel like a different horror scenario rather than the same challenge in a new environment.

Survive Together

Play alone or with up to three friends.

Explore, search for what you need, complete location-specific objectives, and help your teammates survive.

Staying together is often safer — but sometimes moving forward means taking the risk of splitting up.

Don't Trust Every Voice

Mimics can appear throughout the game.

They can imitate familiar voices, lure players away from the group, and turn normal communication into a source of doubt.

Hearing your teammate does not always mean your teammate is there.

Every Location Has Its Own Threat

Mimics are not the only things hunting you.

Each location introduces its own primary enemy with different behavior, rules, and ways of putting pressure on the team.

What keeps you alive in one place may not work in the next.

Familiar Places, Unfamiliar Situations

A location may become familiar after repeated playthroughs, but the situations inside it can change.

Enemy behavior, Mimic appearances, events, player separation, and other circumstances can make returning to a known place less predictable.

You may remember the way out.

You should not always know what will happen on the way there.
